13-year-old All-Stars host tournament

The Atmore 13-year-old all-stars were the host team for the Babe Ruth District 7 All-Star tournament held at Tom Byrne Park this weekend.
After rain delays pushed the tournament later and later into the weekend, Atmore finally faced South Monroe for a 6-5 victory on Saturday.
South Monroe quickly jumped to a lead in the game with a two run first inning. They added to the lead with two more runs in the third. Atmore scored one run in the fourth inning to bring the score to 4-1, South Monroe. Atmore tacked on another run in the fifth inning and three in the sixth off three walks and a single. South Monroe and Atmore each scored one more run in the seventh inning to make the final 6-5.
Hunter Milligan pitched three innings for Atmore with four walks and five strike outs. Travis Vickery pitched four innings, walking six and striking out eight.
On Sunday, after several hours' rain delay, Atmore faced Brewton. Brewton won the game 17-4 in five innings. Lawrence Thomas, Milligan, and Elliot Faircloth each pitched for Atmore. The team played again Tuesday night.
