'Fiddler' rehearsals in full swing

The production is less than three weeks away and members of the cast and crew are hard at work on the Greater Escambia Council for the Arts summer musical, Fiddler On the Roof.
Saturday was devoted to set building. Costumes, backdrops and props are being prepared. The cast of more than 70 people spent the month of June learning lines, music and choreography. Tuesday night marked the first complete run-through of Act I.
Fiddler is the story of a Jewish family in the Russian village of Anatevka. It centers around Tevya, his wife Golde, their six daughters, and the daughters' marriages. The show includes a visit from the family ghosts and an a traditional Jewish bottle dance.
Glen Weber will play the role of Tevye. Jennifer Couch will be Golde and the daughters are played by Megan Martin, Meagan Adams, Haley Pearson, Ellen Johnson, Caitlyn Luttrel and Morgan Weber.
The production team for the show incudes Phil Johnson, Allison Robinson, Jerry Janes, and Dayton Long.
The show will be presented at 7 p.m. July 25 and 26 and at 2 p.m. July 27 at ECHS. Tickets are available at First National Bank, United Bank, or The Atmore Advance.
