Joseph Lee Jones, 31, died Aug. 1 at Atmore Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 4, 1972 to Jessie Lee and Francies Jones. He is survived by a daughter, Victoria Jones; parents Jessie Lee and Francies Jones; three sisters, Jessie Marie Pittman, Angela Holt and husband Anthony, Debra Betts and husband Hercules, all of Atmore; a brother Jerry Jones, of Fort Myers, Fla.; fiancee Catheren Walker; grandfather Willie Mack Dorch; grandmother Ella Mae Jones; a great-aunt Mama Nane and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Community Church in Atmore with Bishop Jimmy C. Wilson officiating.
Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were his brother and cousins.
Robinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Van Clayton Skelton Sr.
Aug. 1, 2003
Van Clayton Skelton Sr. died Aug. 1. in Mobile. A native of Indianola, Miss., he was a resident of Atmore for the past 25 years. He retired from Luhr Brothers Towing Co. after 25 years and was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist. He attended the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife Sara Skelton of Atmore; son Van Clayton Skelton II and wife Ariel; three daughters Elizabeth Skelton of Atmore,Vanessa O'Campo and husband Jose and Cheryl Skelton Faircloth and husband Jack, all of San Diego, Calif.; a brother Daryl Skelton of Davenport, Fla ; five sisters Betty Ann McGuire of Davenport, Josephine Entrekin of Pass Christian, Miss., Sandy Bramham of Belleview,Ky., Patricia Burgos of Clarksdale,Miss. and Evelyn Rice of Drew, Miss. and four grand children.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Dukes officiating.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Henry Watson Jr.

Henry Watson Jr., 85, of Canoe died Monday in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
He was a native of Canoe and a resident of Century for many years. He was a member of Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church in Century.
A timber industry employee, he attended school at the Helen Keller School for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Edna Watson Sr. and sisters Addie Mason, Ida Mae Archie and Lula Pugh. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Watson.
He is survived by two sisters, Nancy Williams of Chicago and Curlie Mae Newkirk of Jacksonville, Fla., as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Watson Jr. officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.

Linnea Jane Merchant

Mrs. Linnea Jane Merchant, 53, of Atmore, died Tuesday in Mobile. A native of Bruce, Miss., she was a resident of Atmore for 30 years, moving here from Century. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by husband Arthur Paul Merchant of Atmore; mother Majorie Lowrey Overstreet of Flomaton; mother-in-law Myrtle Merchant of Atmore; a son, Richard E. Wooten of Cecilia, La.; a daughter, Tracey W. Ware of Lillian; two brothers, Roger V. Oliver and William T. Oliver, both of Grand Bay; a sister, Cheryl O. Fore of Flomaton and six grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Nall officiating. Burial followed in Pine Barren Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sean Reinhart, Jason Donaldson, Steven Ross, Jay Nichols, Bobby Amerson and Lynn Powell.

Annie Ruth Kimmons Hall

Mrs. Annie Ruth Kimmons Hall, 65, of Davisville, died Thursday. A native of Pine Barren, she had spent most of her life in Davisville. She was a retired employee of Escambia Drug Store and attended the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lizzie Kimmons and a brother, Edward Kimmons.
She is survived by husband Ray Hall of Davisville; daugher Shannon Hall of Mexia; two brothers Talbert L. Kimmons and wife Nila, of Enon, Fla. and Raymond W. Kimmons and wife Barbara of Davisville; three sisters, Mary E. Garrett of Seminole, Katie L. Lee of Alamosa, Colo., and Gladys J. Smith of Seminole; sister-in-law Deloys Kimmons of Davisville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 and 2:45 p.m. today at Eastside Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at Sullican Cemetery with Rev.. Mike Gindle officiating. Pallbearers will be Von Kimmons, Levon Kimmons, Ruben Kimmons, Tommie Sellers, Doyal Smith and Shorty Brown.
