An Atmore landmark is undergoing a facelift.
David's Catfish House is rebuilding and remodeling its kitchen and drive through.
The changes will provide additional seating in an outdoor 'boathouse' and more parking to replace what will be lost when the drive through is moved to the south side of the building.
"This is a pretty big undertaking," said Rob Faircloth. He said the building is about 40 years old and the additions and remodelings done in the past did not include the kitchen and storage areas.
"This will make the kitchen more efficient and easier to clean," Faircloth said. "It will provide more storage."
The changes in the drive through will allow more room for cars to get into line and off Main Street.
Faircloth is in hopes that the work will be completed within the next two weeks, and that the restaurant will only be closed for a few days while equipment is moved into the new kitchen area.
Faircloth said that the changes in the kitchen and drive through area should help make the service at the restaurant faster and more efficient.
