Mrs. Lucille Lewis, 77, died Saturday at Atmore Community Hospital. She was a native of Uriah and resided in Atmore. She was a homemaker, foster parent, and worked part time in the maintenance department for the Board of Education. She was a member of God's House Tabernacle of Deliverance Holiness Church in Atmore.
She was preceded in death by one son, Willie Frank Lewis; one sister, Rosie Lee Barron; three brothers, Cleveland Hall, Clarence Hall, and Willie Hall; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband, William Lewis, Sr., of Atmore; 8 sons, William Lewis, Jr., Joel Lewis, Marcus Lewis, Sr., James Lewis, Sr., Gary Lewis, Jack Lewis, Scotty Lewis, all of Atmore,and Jack Lewis of Valdosta, Ga.; three daughters, Minnie Knight, Betty J. Lewis, and Ernestine Harris, all of Mattapan, Mass.; one sister, Lillie Mae Lambert; two brothers, Arch Hall of Detroit and Perry Hall of Jacksonville, Fla.; devoted close friends Arthur Brooks and Alfred and Dora Williams; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from noon-5p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Chapel, followed by family hour from 5-7 p.m.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Bishop Marcus Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Stallworth Cemetery.

Beeda Gibson, 94, of Atmore died Friday in a Brewton nursing home.
She was a member of Brooks Memorial Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late John and Lela Skyron. She is survived by a brother, Kirby Styron of Range, Ala.; a sister, Carolyn Louise Keel of Mobile; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

James L. "Coo-Lou" Thomas

Mr. James L. "Coo-Lou" Thomas, 68, of Atmore, died Thursday at Atmore Community Hospital. He worked as a cement finisher in the construction industry for many years, and served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elouise Thomas-James, and his father, J.G. Waters. He is survived by one daughter, Jamie L. Thomas of Jacksonville, Ark.; one son, Ronnie D. Thomas of Mobile; two sisters, Frances Waters of Phoenix, Ariz., and Pearl Lambert of Atmore; 14 grandchildren and five step-daughters.
Services were held Tuesday at Turner Funeral Chapel of Remembrance with Bishop Jimmy C. Wilson, pastor of Holy Community Holiness Church, officiating. Burial followed at Lucious Cemetery.
