A three-vehicle accident Thursday resulted in four people being transported to the local hospital.
According to witnesses at the scene, a van northbound on State Road 21 had stopped in the left lane order to make a left turn into the parking lot of the Gordon Building.
Witnesses said the driver of the second vehicle, also northbound, became distracted and struck the van from behind.
Investigating officers indicated the van traveled across the right lane of S.R. 21, across a driveway and struck a building.
Officers said a third northbound vehicle attempted to avoid the accident, swerving into the right lane, but was unable to avoid the collision.
Three persons in the van were transported to Atmore Community Hospital by personal vehicle. Witnesses reported that the occupants were the parents of Realtor Ann Gordon. The third occupant was unnamed. The conditions of the occupants of the van were unavailable.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported by ambulance.
No tickets or citations were issued in the incident and the investigation has been completed.
