Mrs. Gayle Drew McKenzie, 60, of Atmore, died Thursday in Atmore. She was the unit secretary for Atmore Community Hospital, born in Lottie on June 29, 1943 to Leslie and Opal Taylor Drew. She is preceded in death by her father, Leslie Drew and a brother, Donald Drew.
She is survived by a
daughter, Terrie Frost of Nokomis; her mother, Opal Drew of McCullough; two
sisters, Robin Alexander of Pensacola and Sandra Goodwin of Atmore; two grandchildren, Stacie Hyatt and Brian Tuberville; and two great-grandchildren, Kirstin Hyatt and Tyler Hyatt.
Graveside services were held Saturday in McCullough Cemetery.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Grace Bernice Moye

Mrs. Grace Bernice Moye, 75, of Atmore, died Tuesday in Atmore. She was a native of Megargel and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She was retired from Sutton's Bus Station and Restaurant after 35 years and attended the Swift Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Palma Devon Moye.
She is survived by her
husband, James L. Moye, of Atmore; two sons, Kendrell Moye, of Canoe, and Dennis Moye, of Nokomis; three daughters, Shirley Nesbitt, of Mobile, and Dorothy Taylor and Margie Shipp, both of Atmore; her sister, Luverne Hadley, of Perdido; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gladdin Mothershed and officiating. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery.

Ruth Sharpless

Mrs. Ruth Sharpless, 75, of Walnut Hill, died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was a native of McCullough, a former resident of Atmore and a resident of Walnut Hill for the past 40 years. She was
previously employed with Monsanto, a restaurant owner in Atmore, and attended the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She loved fishing and was a loving mother and
grandmother. She was
preceded in death by a
brother, Raymond E. Smith, and two sisters, Mary A. Smith and Judith Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Felix B. "Buddy" Sharpless of Walnut Hill; three sons, Danny Wilson of Linewood, Wash., Wayne Wilson of Shoreline, Wash., and Billy Nelson; three daughters, Tracy Capps of Walnut Hill, Carol Wilson of Healsburg, Calif., and Sandra Wilson of Geyserville, Calif.; one brother, James E. Smith of Stockton; four sisters, Faye Blair of Wawbeek, Emily Boler of Pensacola, Rita Horlacher of New Jersey and Jean Smith of Atmore; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. James Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Wilton Oneal Parrish Jr.
Nov. 22, 2003
Mr. Wilton Oneal Parrish Jr., 53, of Atmore, died Nov. 22 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He was born in Birmingham and resided in Atmore. He was Baptist by faith, and worked with Vanity Fair Mills in the boiler room. He also worked in industrial construction as a welder, with the Arvin Plant in Monroeville, trimmed trees and worked with oil field companies. He is preceded in death by his father, Wilton Oneal Parrish Sr., and his brother, Randy Parrish.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Ann Parrish of Atmore; one daughter, Boneil Jade Parrish of Pensacola; a brother, James Ricky Parrish of Mobile; two sisters, Anita Sawyer of Repton and Cherly Holley of Goodway; and two grandchildren, Kiara Parrish and Tramaine (Bubba) Parrish.
Services were held Friday at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home, with Rev. Allen Robinson officiating. Burial followed at Zion Rest Cemetery in Excel.
