Obituaries for Feb 4, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Alcus Holmes
Mr. Alcus Holmes, 62, died Sunday, Feb. 1 in a Baldwin County Hospital. He was a native of Westville, FL, a former resident of Hurley, MS and a resident of Bay Minette for the past 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Holmes and by two brothers, Randolph and Edward Holmes. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Holmes of Bay Minette; his son, Danny and wife Lisa Holmes of Bay Minette; a brother, Gerald Holmes of George County, MS; three sisters, Cozetta Driskell of Bay Minette, Maxine Brooks of Perdido and Kate Fowler of Grand Bay; and an adopted grandchild, Hali Brooks.
Services were held Tuesday at the Holiness Unto God Church with Pastor Alan Blackmon officiating. Burial followed in Brooks Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steven Stewert, James Greek, Bryan Bryars, Scutter Johnson, Harrel Brooks and Richard Fowler.

Lindell Ray Peak, Sr.
Mr. Lindell Ray Peak, Sr., 60, died Saturday, Jan. 31, at his home in Atmore. He was a truck driver born, East St. Louis, IL on November 28, 1943 to Raymond and May Brewer Peak.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Peak and a sister, Elsie Peak. Survivors are his wife, June Friese Peak of Atmore; one son, Linnie Peak, Jr. and wife, Connie of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Terri Blackwell and husband William of Range, AL; two sisters, Shelby Pierce of Greenville, TN and Nancy Joe Coleman of Potossi, MO; four granddaughters, Amber, Ashley, Hope and April.
Services were held Tuesday at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Burial services will be Wednesday, February 4th at 2 PM in Greenwood Cemetery at Loxley with Bro. Billy House officiating.

Baby Girl Williams
Baby Girl Williams, infant, died Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Valerie Robinson
Mrs. Valerie Robinson, 44, died Friday, Jan. 30, at her residence in Jersey City, NJ. She is the granddaughter of Mary House of Atmore (Freemanville).

Henry Bright
Mr. Henry Bright, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 1, at Jay Hospital.

Joe Pullins
Mr. Joe Pullins, 56, died Thursday, Jan. 29 at his residence in Atmore.

Atna M. Taylor
Mrs. Atna M. Taylor, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 1, in Pensacola. She was a native of Linton, IN; a former resident of Atmore and a resident of Pensacola for the past 5 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society for Health Care Centers, retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service and a member of the Southern Bell Pioneer Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. "Buck" Taylor. She is survived by two sons, Donald Hanks and Joe Aliano, both of Palm Springs, CA; her brother, Winfred W. and wife Dorothy Moody of Indianapolis, IN; her sister, Joyce and husband Bill Leininger of Atlanta, IN; two special nieces, Sherry Milstid of Pensacola and Margaret Ann and husband Jim Odom of Cantonment and numerous nieces and nephews in Indiana.
Services will be Wednesday at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
