The Atmore Community Cancer Support Group meets Monday night at 7 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church on South Main St. This months speaker is Mary Stanley, a native of Atmore. Come and join us for a very informative session. Refreashments will be served at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Jay will be honoring Matthew Dobson from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Jay Community Center. Mr. Dobson's most recent accomplishments include becoming first American ever to win the Disney World Marathon in January 2004 and winning the Blue Angel Marathon in 2003.

Relay for Life Jay Units next Team Captain's meeting will be held on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Jay Hospital Royal Room located at 14114 S. Alabama Street. Exxon Mobil and Jacobs Engineering will be preparing Jambalaya with all da fixins. All team captains and those interested in forming a team for Relay are invited. Fourteen teams have already registered for this year's Relay for Life event to be held at Jay High School on April 16-17. All it takes to form a team is $100, a group of people, and lots of enthusiasm. Registration for this event continues until the day of the event, so, it's never too late. Joy Night will be held at The Christ Temple Evangelistic Pentecostal Church, located at 240 Carver Avenue. Service will begin promptlyat 7:30 p.m. The speaker for this occasion will be Evangelist &Co-pastor Irma Redmond, Gospel Temple No. 2 of Walnut Hill. Guest soloists and choirs will be featured on this night. Elder T. Smith and church family invite all to attend.

The NAACP will hold "NAACP Black Extravaganza," at 3 p.m.
Drs. William and Donna Paul and Rev. Days will speak on black history according to the Bible. Dinner will be served after the program.

The Atmore Alumni Chapter (Concordia College) Selma banquet will be held at Bishop's hall (Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ), 103 2nd Ave, Atmore at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is Dr. Julius Jenkins, President of Concordia College. MLK Little League and Junior League registration will be held at McNeils Square from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Children must be registered by a parent or legal guardian and proof of age is required. Ages to be eligable are 9 -14. Registration fee is $10.00. For more infomrmation call 251-368-9447.
Hunter Education Class will be held Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton on Mar. 6 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, 1:00 p.m. unitl 5 p.m. (Students should make lunch arrangments.) Mar. 7 from 1 -5 p.m. will at the same location will be the second portion of this class. Students must attend both classes to receive credit and be at least 10 years old to recevie credit. Anyone born on or after August 1, 1977 must complete and pass a certified hunter education class before purchasing their first hunting liscense in the state of Alabama.
