The Atmore Advance welcomed Brandy Turner to its staff this week.
Turner is a senior at Escambia County High School and comes to the Advance as part of a Co-op class that allows students to gain real world work experience as they prepare to go to college. She will work on a part-time basis for the paper.
Turner, who is 17, will take on a number of duties such as typesetting, and front office duties in the afternoons.
Chuck Bodiford, publisher of the Advance, said Turner would be a welcome addition.
"We're pleased to have Brandy aboard, and believe she will make a strong contribution as long as she is here," Bodiford said. "Here at the Advance, we're always looking for partnerships that will add to the community."
Turner plans to enter Jefferson Davis Community College and pursue a nursing degree.
