The Atmore Public Library will be closed for inventory.
Feb. 26
Atmore Family Life Center will present a Black History Program at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Feb. 27
A 2004 Candidate Workshop will be presented by The Florida Department of State, Division of Elections, on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pensacola Civic Center, 201 East Gregory Street. The workshop is open to candidates, political committees, committees of continuous existence and the public. The workshop will cover "The Do's and Don't's of Campaign Finance, Chapter 106, F.S." and "The Candidate Petition Process." Please contact the Supervisor or Elections' Office in Escambia County at 595-3900 if you wish to attend or require additional information.
Feb. 28
Joy Night will be held at The Christ Temple Evangelistic Pentecostal Church, located at 240 Carver Avenue. Service will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. The speaker for this occasion will be Evangelist &Co-pastor Irma Redmond, Gospel Temple No. 2 of Walnut Hill. Guest soloists and choirs will be featured on this night. Elder T. Smith and church family invite all to attend.

The NAACP will hold "NAACP Black Extravaganza," at 3 p.m.
Dr. William and Donna Paul and Rev. Days will speak on black history according to the Bible. Dinner will be served after the program.
Mar. 3
The GED test will be administered at Reid State Technical College on Wed. and Thurs., March 3 &4. An appointment is required. Call or visit the Reid State GED examiner's office in Building 100 to inquire about the GED test, or to complete the test application process. A valid picture ID is required for test application and testing. The current cost for GED testing is $40.00. The re-test for writing is $10.00 with all other re-test costs being $8.00 each. If you have taken the test before, please bring copy of test scores. Call 251 578-1313 for additional information.

The Atmore Alumni Chapter (Concordia College) Selma banquet will be held at Bishop's hall (Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ), 103 2nd Ave, Atmore at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is Dr. Julius Jenkins, President of Concordia College. Tickets are $6.00 for each person (at the door), prizes will be given. Contact 368-2653 or 446-7380.

MLK Little League and Junior League registration will be held at McNeils Square from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Children must be registered by a parent or legal guardian and proof of age is required. Ages to be eligable are 9 -14. Registration fee is $10.00. For more information call 251-368-9447.
Hunter Education Class will be held Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton on Mar. 6 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, 1:00 p.m. until 5 p.m. (Students should make lunch arrangments.) Mar. 7 from 1 -5 p.m. will at the same location will be the second portion of this class. Students must attend both classes to receive credit and be at least 10 years old to receive credit. Anyone born on or after August 1, 1977 must complete and pass a certified hunter education class before purchasing their first hunting liscense in the state of Alabama. Plan Now for a Day of Family Fun! S.O.S. Festival- Support our schools, Sponsored by Bay Minette Civic Club. Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Bay Minette Civic Center to benefit North Baldwin County Schools. Perdido School will sponsor a booth with; homemade baked goods, balloons, tatoos (stick-on type). Perdido School's band will perform at 11:30 a.m.

Parents Listen, Can You Hear Me? and DHR Working For You In the Community. These classes are brought to you by the Baldwin County Board of Education, Parental Specialist-Katrina Duck and Baldwin County Department of Human Resources. This presentation is free to the parents of Perdido School and any community members who would like to attend. Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Perdido School Cafeteria.

Another gathering of Atmore folks who were children of the depression and teenagers of World War II will soon be here. All former students, teachers and friends of that era are invited to attend the annual reunion of the Barnes Boys (and Girls). The event will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at David's Catfish House on South Main Street.
