Obituaries for March 24, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Jessie (Jess) Bryant Bruner
Jessie (Jess) Bryant Bruner, 56, of Tuscaloosa died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Cameron E. Bryant of Atmore.
She is survived by her spouse, Tom Bruner of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Dee Dee and Jeff Boykin of Tuscaloosa; son, Thom and Angie Bruner of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Mary and Glenn Jernigan of Atmore, Francis and Bob Bryan of Benton, La.; brothers, Ed and Lylla Winfield, Ron and Ginger Bryant of Prattville, Alvin and Theresa Bryant of Autaugaville; mother, Winnie M. Bryant of Atmore; grandchildren, Isabella Marie Bruner, unborn Jessica Faith Boykin; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, March 16 at noon at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Charles M. Durham and the Rev. Kevin Cauley officiated. Burial followed at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
Memory Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Myrtle Ruth McNeil Graham
Mrs. Myrtle Ruth McNeil Graham, 95, of Canoe died Monday, March 22, 2004, in Jay.
She was born on April 25, 1908 in Escambia County, Ala. to the late John Edward and Mary Francis Helton McNeil.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcom Watkens Graham; five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Wallace, Harriet Viola Windham, Ruby Cornelia McNeil, Janie Lee Mixon, and Hettie Wallace Robinson, and two brothers, John Raymond McNeil and James Bartiette McNeil.
She is survived by one son, Clarence Malcolm and Rena Graham of Moyeville; one daughter, Rebecca and James McDonald of Canoe; five grandchildren, Felicia Lee Pettis, Angela and David Pierce, Becca and Ben Smith, Jamie and Kim Graham, and Holly and Jupe Etheridge; eight great-grandchildren, Stephen Pettis, Jessica Pettis, Olivia Pierce, Will Etheridge, Brianna Graham, Caitlin Graham, Sam Smith, and Eliza Pierce.
Services will be Wednesday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Puser officiating.
Burial will follow at Canoe Freewill Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be James Graham, David Pierce, Jupe Etheridge, Lee Pettis, Stephen Pettis, and Ben Smith. Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 24 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time.

Russell Hall
Mr. Russell Hall, 91, of Atmore died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in a local hospital.
Mr. Hall was a native and life long resident of Atmore, the owner and operator of Hall's Grocery Store in Freemanville for 26 years and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Hall of Atmore; a son, Alan Russell and Mary Hall of Irvington; a daughter, Judy and Wayne McCall of McDavid; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth and Jim Jett of Mobile, Ann and Tom Windham of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nephew, James Arnold and Barbara Turbervllle of Atmore.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip James officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery with.
Pallbearers were David Mothershed, Cory Mothershed, Chris Hall, Jimmy Hemmert, Scotty Flowers, and Randy Reynolds.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Arthur Lee Leslie
Mr. Arthur Lee Leslie, 55, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in Atmore Community Hospital.
He was a native of Escambia County, Ala. and a resident of Atmore. He worked as a laborer with Masland Carpet Plant.
He is survived by two daughters, Donyell and Cricket Reese of Atmore and Nichole S. Phifer of Pensacola; five sons, Arthur Leslie Jr. of Montgomery, Davon and Lisa Lyons, Travis T. Leslie all of Atmore, Donzell Ankum of San Francisco, Calif., and Travaris L. Leslie of Saraland and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 24 at 1 p.m. at Deliverance Ministry of Jesus Christ in Atmore. Pastor A.J. Green officiating. His body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mariana Vega
Mrs. Mariana Vega, 98, of Lottie died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her residence.
She was a homemaker born on March 11, 1906 in Fort Huachuca, Ariz. to the late Augustine and Felipa Melendeuz Reyes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vega.
She is survived by one son, Frank Vega of Bosque Farms, N.M.; two daughters, Martha Sanchez of Albuqerque, N.M. and Susana English of Lottie; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 25 at 10 a.m. from St. Roberts Bellarmine Church of Atmore with Father Juan officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 24 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Lucinda Williams
Lucinda Williams, 89, of Stockton died Monday, March 22, 2004 at North Baldwin Hospital. Services will be announced by the Turner Funeral Chapel..
