Our View
With this issue, we publish our annual Horizons edition. No doubt you've seen references to it, and if you've spoken to any of the employees here, you've probably heard about it. It's a big project for a small staff, and a staff that has seen some turnover within the past few months. Imagine tripling your work load – and everything is your idea – mix in a deadline, and you'll get some idea of the amount of effort required to produce this annual supplement.
At the same time, we feel the Horizons publication is a worthwhile venture, of value to our community. If we didn't, we wouldn't publish it. You'll find information about your city and your neighbors you might not have known before, and you'll relive, with us, some of the bigger things that happened over the past year.
We hope you enjoy reading and looking through this edition of Horizons as much as we did producing it.
During this time, we still produced a newspaper, though our attentions were somewhat divided while producing Horizons. Now we return to our focus to your newspaper, and our continued efforts to improve it. We're looking to add to our staff to increase our news coverage and provide you with an even better product.
The name Horizon is appropriate for this special section and for what we're doing here at the Atmore Advance. You can never reach a point where everything's perfect, but you try to keep moving towards that goal, always inching toward the horizon.
We also feel this is the appropriate time to say thank you to our loyal subscribers, readers, advertisers and business partners here in Atmore.
Without your support, we wouldn't be able to do what we do, and we start every day with that in mind. We're proud of the community we serve and we're striving to make you proud of us as well.
From the entire staff of the Atmore Advance, thank you.
