There are only three days left until Mayfest, one of the biggest community events in Atmore.
This year's Mayfest at promises to be a good one, said the event's organizers.
More than 70 food, arts and crafts vendors will fill Tom Byrne Park Satuday, while entertainment will take the stage and entertain throughout the day.
"This Mayfest is looking very good," said Emilie Mims, director of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce. The chamber organizes the annual event, which is sponsored by Pepsi.
This marks the 30th year for Mayfest.
As usual, the gazebo near the center of the park will be the center of entertainment, providing a stage for nearly a dozen musical acts. The gazebo will also play host to the annual Beautiful Baby contest.
Carnival rides, a moonwalk, pony rides on miniature horses, face painting,, a rock climging wall and more will be available to entertain the children.
In addition to the Beautiful Baby contest starting at 9:30 a.m., the annual "Who let the dogs out" Mutt Strut will be held at 1:15 p.m. Pets and their owners can have their pictures drawn by Mobile cartoonist David Schaffer at the Humane Society of Escambia County booth.
"We believe events like this are important to the quality of life for our citizens and our children," said Mims said. "The park is a beautiful setting, and the city does a very good job helping get the park ready for the festival."
The gates open at 9 a.m. There is no charge to come to the festival.
