Obituaries for April 28, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Hillary Cain
Mr. Hillary M. Cain, 83, of Atmore died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Atmore. He was born in Canoe on November 9, 1920 to the Late Horace and Mary Smith Cain. He was a retired Electrician with Vanity Fair Mills. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Hilda Courtney.
He is survived by one son, Johnny Cain of Troy; two daughters, Ann Cain and Connie Desrochers, both of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Charles H. Cain of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Thurl Pearson officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Cemetery.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. in charge of all arrangements.
Victoria Cooper
Mrs. Victoria Elizabeth Wasdin Cooper, 80, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Petal, Miss. Mrs. Cooper was a native and former resident of McCullough and a resident of Petal for the past nine years. She was a retired employee of Vanity Fair after 30 years and attended the Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Fellis Wasdin and Quintin Cooper.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Foshee of Petal and Linda Fields of Grand Bay; her stepson, Kenneth Wasdin of Atmore; her brother, Eulie Bryant of Atmore; three sisters, Voncile Lassitter of Atmore, Alma Stewart of Wade, Miss., and Alene Wasdin of Atmore; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 3 p.m. at the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dan Cates officiating. Burial followed at Corinth Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were James Bryant, Scott Fields, Benny Lassitter, Anthony Stewart, Pete Glass, and Tony Bryant.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Terry Dean
Mr. Terry Dwayne Dean, 39, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Atmore. Mr. Dean was a native of Bay Minette and a resident of Atmore for the past 26 years and attended the Holiness Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephany Dean of Flomaton and Stephanie Rolin of Atmore; father and stepmother, Hasten and Debbie Dean of Atmore; mother, Betty Blankenship of Bay Minette; three brothers, Sammy Dean of Bay Minette, Randy Dean and Kevin Dean both of Atmore; two sisters, Cindy Simmons of Bay Minette and Vicky Rook of White House Fork; two grandchildren; grandparents, Monroe and Tiny Womack of Atmore and Susie Howell of Perdido; two nephews; three nieces.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Fretwell Tabernacle Church with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Timmy McKinley, Larry Paul, Neil McKinley, Todd Wiggins, Butch Gibson, and Peanut Gibson.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Flossie Stacey
Mrs. Flossie Stacey, 47, of Bay Minette died on Friday, April 23, 2004 in Mobile. Mrs. Stacey was of Pentecostal Faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Stacey; brother, Fate Stacey.
She is survived by her husband, Hannis Stacey of Bay Minette; one son, Lonnie Stacey of Bay Minette; mother Clinie Stacey; four brothers, Fred Stacey of Bay Minette, Farrell Stacey, Fabian Stacey, Filmer Stacey all of Rabun; three sisters, Faye Luker, Fern Smith, Frelda Johnston all of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were Monday, April 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Bubba Rolin officiating. Burial was followed at the Dean's Cemetery in Rabun. Active pallbearers were Rusty Smith, Cliffton Smith, Chris Stacey, Ray Johnson, Ray Parker, DeWayne Minchew.
Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
David Brown
David Brown, 87, of Atmore died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Atmore Community Hospital. Robinson Christian Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
