Obituaries for June 2, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Cornelia Hawkins
Mrs. Cornelia Tew Hawkins, 74, of Atmore, died Friday, May 28, 2004, in Brewton. She was born to the late Bryant Gilmore and Margaretta Beall Tew on March 16, 1930. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Atmore for over 50 years and a member of the UMW group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Hawkins, and a brother, Henry Bryant Tew.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda and husband Dr. Dan Willett of Pensacola; a brother, James M. Tew of Mobile, and a grandchild, Addison Willett.
Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church on Monday, May 31, with Dr. Doug Newton officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
Donna Boutwell
Mrs. Donna Boutwell, 57, of Brewton, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at a local hospital. Boutwell was a native of Fairfield, Ohio and a former resident of Byrneville and Orlando, and a resident of Brewton for the past 12 years. She was a member of Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond "Ray" Cutting; a brother, Butch Cutting, and a stepdaughter, Vikki Knighten.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Boutwell of Brewton; her mother, Esther Cutting of Mansfield, La.; a son, Jimmy Boutwell of Brewton; three daughters, Beverly Knighten of Atmore, Karen Adams and Brenda Boutwell, both of Century; three stepdaughters, Belinda Hudson of Robertsdale, Sharon Johnson of Huxford and Marilyn Chastang of Mobile; a brother, Roger Cutting of Orlando; two sisters, Ruth Armstrong of Shreveport, La. and Marvel Rayford of Mansfield, La.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, May 30, with Rev. James Baker and Sister Claudeen Kimmons officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jamie Thompson, Jerry Adams, Rocky Davis, Scotty Nall, Tim Cobb and Terry Lambeth.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Sally Morris
Mrs. Sally Irene Morris, 84, of Uriah, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in a Mobile hospital. Morris was a native of Frisco City and a resident of Uriah for most of her life. She was a member of Mineola Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, J. Floyd Morris, Sr. of Uriah; two sons, John Morris of Uriah and Roy Morris of Branson Mo.; a daughter, Diane Brooks of Uriah; a nephew, Gene Blanton; eleven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Mineola Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 1, with Rev. Bob McKenzie officiating. Burial followed at Mineola Cemetery.

Maude Evans
Mrs. Maude S. Evans, 87, a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004. Born to the late Jackson and Anna Smith on October 18, 1918. Evans was a native of McWilliams and a resident of Bay Minette for many years. She was a member of Trinity Chapel A.M.E. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Clovice Evans; daughter Annie Pearl Evans; son Eugene "Nick" Smith.
She is survived by four children, Wanda America, Nealie Clyde Evans, Gregory David Evans all of Bay Minette, and Elaine Evans of Pensacola; two nieces, Bertha and Jackie Tucker of Bay Minette; nephew, Fred Anderson Jr. of Bay Minette; great nephew, Freeman McCall of Bay Minette; cousin, Myrtice Cody of Atmore; host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Chapel A.M.E. on Monday, May 31, with the Rev. Edgar Jemison officiating. Burial wasat Mutual Aide Cemetery in Bay Minette.
Pallbearers were Aubrey Kenneth Smith, Jerry Crooks, Fred Anderson, Richard Bradley, Timothy Gatrey and Darryl Evans.
Robinson and Christian Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Johnny Madison
Johnny Madison, 43, of Century, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at South Baldwin Hospital in Foley.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Cerola Williams
Cerola Williams, 87, of Atmore, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Atmore Nursing Care Center. She was born to Roxanna White English and Richard Jackson on November 12, 1916
Williams was a native of Georgetown and a resident of Atmore since 1968. She was a member of Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Williams; mother, Roxanna White English; four infant sons; and her sister, Buela Thomas.
She is survived by four children, Joe E. Williams of Atmore, Leroy Williams of Little River, Alice Williams of Atmore, Dan Williams of Uriah; a step daughter, Arlene Oliver of Moultrie, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Arthur Lee Williams, Sandy Williams and Anthony Williams all of Atmore, Eyvonne Williams of Orlando, Gloria Williams of Little River, Annie Williams of Anchorage, Alaska, and Fredrick Williams of Auburn; two uncles, Augustus Flavors of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dan White of Chicago, Ill.; great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church Saturday,May 29 with Joe Deed officiating. Burial followed at Little River Cemetery.
