Obituaries for June 20, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Charles Rudolph
Mr. Charles Edward Rudolph, 58, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at his residence.
He was a native of Escambia County, Ala. and a resident of Baltimore, Md. for many years. He worked as a Building Engineer in the Construction Industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Ica Rudolph and two sisters, Eddie Lee Williams and Mary Ethel Palmore.
He is survived by one daughter, Tamala Rudolph of Baltimore; one son, Charles Rudolph of Baltimore; four sisters, Rutelia America of Atmore, Esther Williams of Germany, Mable Graham of Pensacola and Emma Beasley of Jamaica, N.Y.; four brothers, Willie James Rudolph of Reading, Pa., Jeff Rudolph Jr. and Willie Lewis Rudolph both of Atmore and Cleveland Rudolph of Atlanta and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with the family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel on Monday, June 21. His body will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, with Rev. Donald Ray Palmore officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Eloise Knowles
Mrs. Eloise White Knowles, 87, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Flomaton.
Knowles was a native and a resident of Flomaton for most of her life. She attended the Allen Smith Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Knowles; a daughter, Mildred Emmons and three great-grandsons.
She is survived by her son, Billy Joe and wife Faye Knowles of Flomaton; two daughters, Melva Lou and husband Levon Howell of Flomaton and Myrtice and husband Ervin Carnley Jr. of Brewton and 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, with Bro. David Baggett and Bro. Donnis Bowman officiating. Burial took place at Lambeth-Boutwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Howell, Wendell Carnley, Kevin Knowles, Ed Wright, Keith Baggett and Will Chavers.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Gussie Wilson
Mrs. Gussie Mae Wilson, 88, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at her residence.
She was a native of Escambia County, Ala. and a resident of Atmore for many years.
She was a member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore where she served in the Sunday School Choir and served as a member of the Usher's Board. She was a homemaker and she attended the S.A.I.L. Center in Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Wilson Sr. and her parents, Oscar and Hattie Dortch.
She is survived by five daughters, Barbara McMurray of Atmore, Betty Longmire and Gwendolyn Tucker both of Richmond, Va., Delois Alemezohy of Lago, Nigeria and LaShirley Nero of Uriah; three sons, Leroy Wilson Jr. of Trenton, N.J., Jimmy Wilson of Atmore and Anthony Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Laura Dee Nettles of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Claude Thomas of Atmore and 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, with Bishop Jimmy Wilson Eulogist and Rev. Willie Hawthrone officiating. Burial took place at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore.
Turner Funeral chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mazie Stacey
Mrs. Mazie G. Stacey, 99, of Atmore, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at her residence. She was born to the late Walter Eugene and Mary Stacey Gandy on May 25, 1905. Stacey was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley "Pop" Stacey and two daughters, Matress Marshall and Barbara Ann Jernigan.
She is survived by two sons, Otis "Pee Wee" Stacey and Adren "Joe" and wife Martha Stacey all of Atmore; four daughters, Ola and husband Harold Reynolds of Pensacola, Faye and husband Donnie Lindsay of Alexandria, La., Katie Jones of McComb, Miss. and Verler and husband Johnny Coker of Atmore; one son-in-law, Melvin Jernigan of Excel and 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were her grandsons.

Ola Link
Mrs. Ola S. Link, 68, of Canoe, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at her residence. She was born to the late Arthur and Annie Mae Evans Godwin on July 2, 1935.
Link was a former resident of Quincy, Fla. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Link of Quincy; one daughter, Mellany and husband Michael Stone of Quincy; two brothers, Hilary Godwin of Clearwater, Kan. and James Godwin of Harvest; three sisters, Lillie Watson of South Side, Geraldine Dawson of Mobile and Juanita Lowry of Jay and one grandson, Christopher Stone.
Funeral services were held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, with Bro. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial took place at Bowman Cemetery.
