Obituaries for June 23, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Alice Holloway
Mrs. Alice Mae Holloway, 98, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Montgomery. She was born to the late John D. and Alice M. Giddens Pickens on January 8, 1906.
Holloway was a native of Conecuh County, a long time resident of Atmore and a resident of Montgomery for the past three years. She was a retired waitress at the SweetShop.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, D.C. Brooks; second husband, Woody Holloway; two sisters, Vivian Simmons and Irma Cunningham and two brothers, Clayton Pickens and Walden Pickens.
She is survived by two brothers, Glenn Pickens of Montgomery and Aubrey Pickens of Grand Bay; one sister, Gladys Campbell of Atlanta and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, with Bro. C.L. Langford officiating. Burial took place at Olive Branch Cemetery in Owassa.

Mildred Killam
Mrs. Mildred Dean Killam, 73, of Flomaton, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at her residence.
She was a member of Saint Bellarmine Catholic Church in Atmore and was employed by Old Alger Sullivan Lumber Company in Century, Daniels Insurance Agency in Flomaton and Atmore, D.J. Bondurant Lumber Company and co-owner of Killam's Bait and Tackle Shop in Flomaton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Willard F. Killam; her parents, Samuel and Birdie Mae Dean and two brothers, Hunter and Kimble Dean.
She is survived by two daughters, Jan Killam of Flomaton and Patty Killam of Milton; one son, Mike Killam of Crestview; grandchildren, Amanda and Aaron Killam of McDavid; special adoptive daughter, Linda Andrews of Flomaton; two brothers, Erston Dean of Pensacola and Judson and wife Elaine Dean of Flomaton and her sister, Myrtice Acuff of Flomaton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday, with Rev. Jan Zagorski officiating. Burial will take place at Flomaton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Kelly, Larry White, Ben White, Ronnie Hammond, Thomas Agee and Dewey Bondurant Jr.
In lieu of flowers, Mildred has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Flomaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.

Alvin Singuefield
Mr. Alvin "Bill" Singuefield, of Atmore, died.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Otis Baggette
Mr. Otis Danford Baggette, 80, of Bay Minette, died Friday, June 18, 2004, in a local hospital.
Baggette was a member of the Farm Hill United Methodist Church and was retired from St. Regis Paper Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Susie Baggette and two brothers, Doyle and Leon Baggette.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Baggette; one son, Donnie and wife Linda Baggette of Frisco City; two daughters, Patricia and husband Vernon Boatner of Elberta and Sue and husband Larry Knight of Cantonment; one brother, John D. Baggette of Hixon, Tenn. and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held on Monday.
Active pallbearers were his grandsons.

Rosa Jones
Ms. Rosa Mary Jones, 44, of Atmore, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Plaquemine Nursing Care Center in Plaquemine, La.

Patricia Hollinger
Mrs. Patricia Ann "Duck" Hollinger, 72, of Semirah Springs, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at her residence.
Hollinger was a native and life long resident of Semirah Springs. She was a member of Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church and was employed by Vanity Fair Mills and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Alex "Buster" Hollinger of Semirah Springs; four sons, Phil Hollinger of Semirah Springs, Gary and wife Tara Hollinger of Barnett Crossroads, Jarrell and wife Angel Hollinger and Darrell Hollinger all of Semirah Springs; one daughter, Brenda and husband Mike Helton of Semirah Springs; two brothers, Raymond Woods of Semirah Springs and Burl Woods of Atmore; three sisters, Betty Fretwell of Semirah Springs, Elizabeth "Jodie" Byrd of Bay Minette, Mary Ella Etheridge of Mobile and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church on Tuesday, with Rev. Grady Palmer, Rev. Chad Cooper and Rev. Jesse Bohannon officiating. Burial took place at the church cemetery.

William McGhee
Mr. William Raymond McGhee, 65, of Poarch, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in Atmore. He was born to the late Kinzy and Ethel McGhee on December 13, 1938, in Escambia County, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane McGhee of Poarch; one daughter, Diedra "Dee Dee" McGhee and husband Jeffrey Ward of Alabaster; two grandsons, William Alexander Ward and Patrick Ward of Alabaster; one brother, Joe Frank and wife Dorothy McGhee of Atmore; four sisters, Mary Stella and husband Rev. Fred Gibbs, Lois and husband Steve Fore all of Atmore, Betty and Gene Sheppard of Dothan and Carolyn and husband Lonnie Rackard of Poarch; a special nephew, Harold Rolin of Poarch; a special niece Mercede Raquel Sanchez of Atmore and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m., Wednesday, with Rev. Fred Gibbs and Rev. Pruitt officiating. Burial will take place at New Home Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Tink Thomas, Cecil Corey, David Gibbs, Harold Corey, Jason Rackard and Kendall McGhee. Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Citizens of SAIL Center.
