Obituaries for July 7, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
A.G. Byrd
Mr. A.G. Byrd, 87, of Atmore, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at his residence.
Byrd was a native of Oak Grove and a resident of Atmore, for 57 years. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and the owner and operator of Atmore Refrigeration for 56 years.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Henry Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Illa Mae Byrd of Atmore; a son, Wallace and wife Helen Byrd of Atmore; a daughter, Jean Lindsey of Atmore; two grandsons, Chris Byrd and Bryan Byrd both of Atmore and a great-grandson, Justin Byrd of Atmore.
Funeral services were held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, with Rev. Gladdin Mothershed and Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Winston Killam, Benny Earl Killam, Terry Day, Tim Wallace, Johnny Burkett and Jack Beck.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Elouise Dailey
Mrs. Elouise Dailey, 82, of Atmore, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
C.O. Wiggins
Mr. C.O. Wiggins, 76, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at a Pensacola hospital.
Wiggins was a native of Goodway and a resident of McDavid for the past 55 years. He attended Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church and was retired from St. Regis after 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Doris Wiggins.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry and wife Brenda Wiggins of McDavid, Donnie Wiggins of Cantonment and David Wiggins of McDavid; his daughter, Rita and husband Johnny Womack of Monroeville; a brother, Roger Wiggins of Brewton; two sisters, Laura Richburg of Ft. Walton Beach and Jeannette Carnley of Pensacola; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, with Rev. Shelton Kindig and Rev. Michael Wiggins officiating.
Burial will take place at Beulah Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Arrington, Anthony Thompson, Kenneth Roley, Paul Walston, Charles Hopkins and Lavon Little.

Paul Kaiser Jr.
Paul Kaiser Jr., 96, died Sunday, July 4, 2004.
Kaiser was a native of Chicago, Ill. and a resident of Foley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
He is survived by three sons, Paul and wife Diane Kaiser III of Foley, Douglas and wife Barbara Kaiser of Atmore and Edward and wife Donna Kaiser of St. Mary's, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara and husband Tom Leavoll of Daphne and Kathleen and husband Michael Morgan of Ridgefield, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Foley at 10 a.m., Wednesday, with Monsignor Guido Calleja officiating.
Burial will take place at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.

Robert Towery
Mr. Robert Wesley Towery, 66, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Milton.
Towery was a native of Mamgam, Okla., a former resident of Phoenix, Ariz. and a resident of Milton for the past five years. He was a member of Plaster and Cement Masons of Union #394 of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jane Towery; a brother, Marshall Towery and his mother-in-law, Perry Lee Strength.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Towery of Milton; his son, Robbie Towery of Florence, Ariz.; five daughters, Shannon Roberson of Flomaton, Christine Brender of Phoenix, Patricia Fuchs of Maryland, Angela Denise Roberson of Milton and Amy Roberson of Flomaton; five brothers, James Ripley, David Goodman and Joe Goodman all of Phoenix, Roger Goodman of Whitter, Calif. and Billy Goodman of Okla.; a sister, Ann Hoffman of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and his father-in-law, Aubrey "Sugar Boy" Strength of Flomaton.
Funeral services will be held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Wednesday, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Flomaton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Freddy Godwin, Roger Robinson, Gene Godwin, Kenny Higdon, Sylvester Strength and Jacob Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be David Strength and John Strength.
