Obituaries for July 11, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Otto Blackwell
Mr. Otto Blackwell, 68, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at a Baldwin County Hospital.
Blackwell was a native of New Harmony, Fla. and a resident of Atmore for the past 43 years. He attended the Baptist Church and retired in 1996 from the construction of natural gas plants.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Blackwell of Atmore; two sons, Greg Blackwell and Pernell and wife Tammy Blackwell all of Atmore; a daughter, Rhonda and husband Wayne Stringer of Atmore; a brother, Trig Blackwell of Gainesville, Fla.; two sisters, Ruby Blocker and Callie Hunt both of New Harmony, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Wade Blackwell, Hannah Blackwell, Keilan Lord, Chastity Robbins, Amber Blackwell, Brandon Moore, Clay Stringer, Brittany Arrant and Ryan McNeil and one great-grandchild, Drake Robbins.
Funeral services were held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30, with Rev. Freddy Stallworth officiating.
Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Moore, Keilan Lord, Wade Blackwell, Don Fisher, Danny Lambert and Tyrone Blackwell.

Robert Towery
Mr. Robert Wesley Towery, 66, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, in Milton.
Towery was a native of Mamgam, Okla., a former resident of Phoenix, Ariz. and a resident of Milton for the past five years. He was a member of Plaster and Cement Masons of Union #394 of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and June Towery; a brother, Marshall Towery and his mother-in-law, Perry Lee Strength.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Towery of Milton; his son, Robbie Towery of Florence, Ariz.; five daughters, Shannon Roberson of Flomaton, Christine Brender of Phoenix, Patricia Fuchs of Maryland, Angela Denise Roberson of Milton and Amy Roberson of Flomaton; five brothers, James Ripley, David Goodman and Joe Goodman all of Phoenix, Roger Goodman of Whitter, Calif. and Billy Goodman of Okla.; a sister, Ann Hoffman of Phoenix; eight grandchildren and his father-in-law, Aubrey "Sugar Boy" Strength of Flomaton.
Funeral services will be held at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Wednesday, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Flomaton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Freddy Godwin, Roger Robinson, Gene Godwin, Kenny Higdon, Sylvester Strength and Jacob Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be David Strength and John Strength.

Geraldine Turner
Geraldine Farrar Turner, 89, of Canoe, died Thursday, July 8, 2004. She was born to William Duke Farrar and Martha Kemp Dailey Farrar on June 15, 1915.
Turner was a native of Atmore. She was a Music Director of Canoe Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Clint H. Turner; a son, Dr. Franklin Howard and wife Carol Long of Mobile; a granddaughter, Katherine Farrar Long of Birmingham; a grandson, Franklin Howard Long Jr. of Atlanta; stepdaughters, Mary Elizabeth Vinson and Ann Smith-Thomas; a brother, Fielden "Pete" Farrar; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Long Hendricks and Ruth Long Lawson and a brother-in-law, Raymond A. Lawson.
Funeral services were held at Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, with Dr. Dewitt Allen officiating.
Burial took place at Canoe Methodist Cemetery in Robinsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Infirmary Foundation, 3 Mobile Infirmary Circle, Mobile, Al 36607.

Mrs. Hertha M. Snowden, 85, of Atmore, died Friday, July 9, 2004, at Atmore Community Hospital.

Willie Lee
Willie Neal Lee, 74, of Atmore, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
