Alto welcomed two guests from Brazil yesterday, and the visit could mean new business for Alto, supplying parts to Massey Fergusen, a large, manufacturer of tractors.
Jose Montalvo, Vice President of Latin American Sales from the Alto export offices in Miami, Fla. accompanied Paula G. da Rosa and his son Thales K. da Rosa to visit Alto's Atmore plant from a company called Rodaksul. Rodaksul is a large distributor of Alto Products in Brazil.
The purpose of the trip was to discuss a program to supply parts to Massey Ferguson. Alto would supply clutches directly to the Massey Ferguson factory and Rodaksul would represent them.
"This potential contract with Brazil could be a significant amount of business for Alto," said David Landa, Alto representative. "We are looking forward to opening up the Brazilian market."
Rodaksuk is located in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Porto Alegre is in the southern part of the country about 500 miles south of the capital city of Sao Paulo. It has been in business for over 30 years. Initially they distributed the Alto heavy duty clutch line used mainly in trucks and buses, but they have recently expanded there offering to include a full range of light duty Alto clutches for passenger cars.
