I have already shared a good bit about myself with you in previous articles, but now, I want to take the time to talk about you, our customers and readers. I want to get to know you and your families; parents, children and grandchildren. I want to see your stories, engagements, weddings, birth announcements, school news, and much more. I want us all to work toward making this newspaper one you can continue to be proud of; one that all citizens of Atmore will want to take as their hometown paper.
As the new publisher of The Atmore Advance, I vow to make a conscious effort to actively listen and learn what it is you want from your community newspaper. Others here at The Atmore Advance work hard to help you receive your quality paper with quality service. Let me help you get to know them by reintroducing you to your Atmore Advance staff.
Your editor, Arthur McLean, works tireless hours to create a feeling of community for your paper. With Arthur's continuous efforts we hope to bring to your paper, broader and more in-depth news coverage about our city.
Lisa McCall, your composing coordinator, is always ready to lend her creative expertise when she designs your ads for the next edition of The Advance. She also never fails to answer the phone with a smile when you call with a question.
And, every day around the city you're bound to see Michelle Staff-Smith your Advertising Representative calling on all of you who need to purchase advertising for your next sale or service. When you need to send a newspaper subscription to a friend for Christmas, it's Blair Nassar you'll want to call.
Your Circulation and Accounting manager, Blair Nassar is always willing to help you get your paper so you can catch up on all of the latest Atmore happenings.
As your community newspaper, your opinion is important to us. We want to strive to provide an outlet for your ideas while we work toward defining our views as your newspaper. Responsible expression of opinion is an important part of communication and is at the heart of what keeps our communities healthy and prosperous.
We hope to provide all of our area businesses with the best value for their advertising dollar and deliver our subscribers' newspapers to them in a timely fashion. If we ever fall short of any of these basic methods of good business, please let us know. We will work hard to do things right. Remember, this is your newspaper and we want to publish stories, information and advertising that are of interest to you and your neighbors.
As we all work on creating a strong relationship between the Advance and its community, remember that our mission here in Atmore is to deliver to its people a community newspaper that is better than you could imagine and helps bring prosperity to this town we all call home.
Krichelle Halualani is the publisher of the Atmore Advance.
