Obituaries for December 8, 2004 edition of the Atmore Advance
Flora Lee Wiggins
Mrs. Flora Lee Coleman Wiggins, 55, of Atmore, died Thursday Dec. 2, 2004 at Atmore Community Hospital.
A native of Atmore, she was a lifetime resident of the area. Mrs. Wiggins was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmit and Ida Mae Coleman.
Surviving are her husband, Prince Lee Wiggins, Sr. of Atmore, two daughters, Chrishon and husband Anthony Walker of Mobile and Nicole Washington Wiggins of Atmore; three sons, Prince Lee Wiggins, Jr. of Atmore, Darron and wife Roslyn Wiggins of Mobile, and Terrance and wife Denice Wiggins of Fairhope; sister Ernestine and husband Oz Riley of Atmore; brother Robert "Smiley" Coleman of Atmore; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Dec. 9, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church in Atmore, with Rev. Harold Askew officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Visitation will be Dec. 8, from 1p.m. to 8:30p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel. Her body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral services.
Active pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Laura Louis Odom
Mrs. Laura Louis Odom, 68, of Flomaton, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
She was a native of Evergreen and a resident of Flomaton for many years. Mrs. Odom was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Flomaton and worked as a restaurant cook for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harvey J. Odom, daughter Judia L. Odom; parents Gus and Lillie b. McPherson and a sister, Willie P. Straughn.
Surviving are five daughters, Gloria M. Barnes, Latasha Odom, Kameitha Odom, all of Flomaton, Linda and husband Michael Jackson of Atmore, and Rhonda and husband Willie Brooks of Cantonment, Fla.; five sons, Willie J. McPherson and Rev. Harvey and wife Adrienne Odom of Flomaton, Anthony and wife Alysia Odom of Pollard, Timothy Odom of Montgomery and Gil Odom of Pensacola, Fla.; a step-son DeWayne and wife Rosie Williams of Evergreen, brother Gus McPherson Jr. of Evergreen; 25 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at Fannie/Damascus Cemetery in Flomaton.
Her sons and grandsons were the active pallbearers.

Dorothy Lean Hudson
Mrs. Dorothy Lean Hudson, 62, of Atmore, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
She was a native of Dixon Mills, and a resident of Atmore for many years.
Mrs. Hudson was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Louis Hudson; parents Hunter and Minnie Lee Lewis; and granchildren Melissa Sharay Hudson, Ma'lik Ty'Quan Hudson, Sharon Denise Lewis; and siblings, Nancy Muriel Lewis, L.C. Jones, Curtis Lewis and Willie Clyde Lewis.
She is survived by four daughters, Hattie and husband Jimmy Brown and Contina Hudson of Atmore, Gloria and husband John Earl Dixons of Dixon Mills, and Brenda and husband Elton Allen of Atwater, Calif.; a son, Willie James and wife Annette Hudson Sr. of Atmore; five sisters, Margaret and husband Jake Montgomery, Elle Jean and husband Ben Bowler , Nita Allen, Minnie Osteen and husband Eddie B. Hudson and Ruth Ola Lockett, all of Dixon Mills; one brother, Hunter and wife Angela Lewis Sr., of Dixon Mills; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Freemanville, with Rev. Alfonzia Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in Faireview Cemetery in Atmore.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 10, from 1p.m. to 8:30p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel. Her body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.

Deloise Martin
Ms. Deloise Martin, 60, of Atmore, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at her home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Jake Clarence Hollingsworth
Mr. Jake Clarence Hollingsworth, 91, of Nokomis, died Saturday, Dec. 04, 2004 in Atmore. He was a retired Bus Driver with Escambia County Florida School Systems. He was born on May 12,1913 in Nokomis, Fla to the late Andrew Jackson and Essie James Hollingsworth.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie J. Hollingsworth and two grandsons, Jeff Heathcock and Tony Hollingsworth.
Survivors are one daughter, Thelma Hollingsworth Heathcock of Nokomls, Fla. Three Sons: Eldred "Holly" Hollingsworth of Walnut Hill, Fla., Dewayne Hollingsworth of Enon, Fla. and Paul Hollingsworth of Robertsdale. Ten Grandchildren: John Heathcock, Vickie Hutchins, Gabby Dortch, Vanessa Stokes, Ronald Hollingsworth, Russell Hollingsworth, Robert Hollingsworth, Rachel Hamilton, Tracy O'Connor and Wendy Simmons. Seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday Dec. 07, 2004 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Brannon and Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Hollingsworth Cemetery. Active Pallbearers, Russell Hollingsworth, Brandon Dortch, Caleb Dortch, Randy Stokes, Jason Simmons and Shawn O'Connor.
The family received friends Monday evening at Johnsm-Ouimby Funisral Home.

Thomas "Red" Overstreet
Mr. Thomas A. "Red" Overstreet, age 52 of Pensacola, Fl., died Monday November29, 2004 in Pensacola, Fl. He worked in the construction field as a young man he was an avid pool shooter. He was born in Brewton, Al to the late M.W. and Rosa Godwin Overstreet.
Survivors include three brothers, Jim Overstreet and Robert Joe Overstreet of Atmore, Al., Jerry Overstreet of Northport, Al., Lois Morris, Mary E. Overstreet of Alexandria, VA, and Diane Board of Creola, Al. Services will be Friday December 3, 2004 at 2 pm from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Joey Overstreet, Kenny Jordan, Wendal Powell, Stevie Morris, Steven Morris and Thomas Ellis.
Family will receive friends, Thursday evening Dec. 2, 2004 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm.
