R.C. Shivers
FRISCO CITY – Mr. R.C. Shivers, 88, passed away April 10 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on April 23 at Bethel Rock Church in Uriah with the Elder James Shivers officiating. Graveside services will follow in Uriah Community Cemetery.
Mr. Shivers was a native of Santa Rosa County, Fla. He was a member of Bethel Rock AME Church in Uriah and a church steward. He was also a Mason and worked in the pulpwood and retired as a logger.
Mr. Shivers' wife, Ethel McKee Shivers; father, Tom Shivers; mother, Ella Shivers; son, Thomas Shivers; four sisters, Nettie Bell Edwards, Pearl Peasine, Mattie May Robinson and Annie Lee Crenshaw and five brothers, George Shivers, Charlie Shivers, Theodoe Shivers, Samuel Shivers and J.D. Shivers, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie (Aaron) Brown of Frisco City, Scharlene Clark and Doretha Hands both of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two sons, Elder James (Barbara) Shivers of Frisco City and Rochester Shiver of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 37 grandchildren; 92 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
