Miracle Leigh Walker
Birmingham – The infant Miracle Leigh Walker, a five day old, passed away Monday, May 2 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Graveside services were held May 6 at Williams Family Cemetery in Freemanville with Minister Blanche Cunningham officiating.
Miracle was born April 30 at USA Women and Children Hospital in Mobile. She is survived by her mother, Nafeteria Bright of Atmore; her father, Shedrick Walker of Atmore; one sister, TiShay Knight of Atmore; two brothers, Ty'Ollie Bright and Shedrick Walker, Jr., both of Atmore; and grandparents Theophilis Kidd, Jr., Cynthia Cooper, Carrie Spencer, Thomas George, and James Walker, all of Atmore, and George Cooper of Uriah.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
Albert Ankum
Daphne – Mr. Albert Ankum, 89, passed away May 3 at Mercy Medical Hospital in Daphne. Funeral services took place May 7 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Latham, Ala., with the Rev. Willie Arnold officiating. Graveside services followed at Latham Cemetery. The family received friends May 6 at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Ankum was a native and lifelong resident of Latham. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Latham, and was the oldest deacon and chairman of the deacon board. He was also the superintendent of the Mt. Nebo Sunday School. He was a mason and attended school in Baldwin County. He retired from Alpine Chemical as delivery, and was a custodian at Foley school. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II. Mr. Ankum was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and George Ankum; and his four sisters, Catherine Williams, Easter Ankum, Ollie Carter, and Eliza White. He is survived by his daughter, Lula A. Lee; one sister, Nettie Brown; two brothers, Ezell Ankum and wife, Lydia, and George A. Ankum, all of Latham; and one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

Annie Pearl Dixon
Flomaton – Mrs. Annie Pearl Dixon, 54, of Flomaton passed away May 3 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 9 at 1 p.m. at Fannie Baptist Church in Flomaton with the Rev. Hiriam Stanton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Fannie/Damascus Cemetery in Flomaton. The family will receive friends May 8 from 2-8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Dixon was a native and lifelong resident of Flomaton, and attended Fannie Baptist Church in Flomaton. She was a member of the missionary society and the Matrons. She attended school in Escambia County and attended Jefferson Davis Community College. She was a certified tax provider. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Napps, and her step-father, Jessie Williams. She is survived by her spouse, Bernard Dixon of Flomaton; her mother, Willie Pearl Williams Thomas of Century; three sons, Sidney Dixon and wife, Katrina, of Flomaton, Bernard Dixon and wife, Nicole, of Century, and Calvin Williams of Pensacola; six sisters, Diane Hayes of Flomaton, Mary F. Frazer of Pensacola, Brenda Thomas and Cinderella both of Century, Princess Thomas and husband, Keith, of San Diego, Calif., and Mittie Stallworth of Mobile; three brothers, Charlie Williams and wife, Shirley, of Houston, Texas, Alfonza Williams of Atmore, and Jessie Williams and wife, Pearlie Mae, of Bay Minette; and four grandchildren.

Eddie Rhodes
Pensacola – Mr. Eddie Rhodes, 66, of Atmore passed away May 6 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

Newnan, Calif. – Mrs. Linda Carolyn Boykin, 51, of Atmore passed away May 5 at Newnan Hospital.
