Atmore Babe Ruth Baseball was finally able to kick off Saturday at Tom Byrne Park, and the Huddle House team provided plenty of fireworks for the occasion in their 14-3 drubbing of the Greenlawn Pharmacy team.
Lawrence Thomas, Kyle Chafin, and Matthew McGhee all scored twice for Huddle House. McGhee batted 2-for-3 on the day, and Chafin contributed one hit in two at-bats while being walked twice. Erice Coley, A.J. Beachy, Tyler Brown, Gordon Nickels, Douglas Oliver, Maurice White, and Reginald Yelder scored the other Huddle House runs.
Blake Walker, Tyler Hochstetler, and Rakeem Phillips scored the three Greenlawn runs. The Greenlawn team had numerous opportunities on the day, drawing seven walks from Huddle House pitcher Lawrence Thomas. But Greenlawn could not take advantage of the opportunities.
