Rangers dodge Warriors, 7-5

Thursday saw a barnburner in Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball Major League action at Tom Byrne Park, as the Atmore VFW Rangers outlasted the United Bank Warriors 7-5.
Gavin Salter and Tywan Dixon had huge days for the Rangers, both scoring three runs. Dixon added a triple in the third inning. Joseph Parker scored the other Ranger run.
Cody Merchant led the Warriors in a losing effort, scoring twice. Marshall Rolin, C.J. Pierce, and Levi Gideons added the other Warrior runs.
Cardinals 10
Athletics 0
The late game Thursday saw total domination from the Lions Club Cardinals, pounding the First National Bank Athletics 10-0 in a game shortened by the mercy rule.
Christian Swartzendruber, Darren McGhee, Westley Sirmon, and Tanner Boatwright would all cross the plate twice on the day for the Cardinals. Swartzendruber also slapped a double. Nicholas Linam and Tanner Boatwright scored the other Cardinal runs.
Ty Randolph managed the only base-hit for the A's in the fourth inning.
No games were held Saturday or Monday.
