Teamwork is a quality that applies to almost every walk of life.
Few businesses run with one or two people. Clubs don't exist with one person. Places of worship rarely have one member.
And of course, baseball teams can't win with only one player.
The value of learning to work in a team atmosphere is fairly clear when one thinks about it.
Melvin Rolin, manager of the United Bank Warriors and the Atmore 12-year-old Cal Ripken All-Stars, realizes this and seeks to make sure his players learn it, as well.
Rolin has three sons, Michael, 18, Mitchell, 14, and Marshall, 12. He said having three boys around can be an adventure.
What is more remarkable is that Rolin finds the time to coach, given his job that takes him throughout the area on a daily basis.
Much like several of his coaching counterparts, an early love of baseball compelled Rolin to coach youth.
