The 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force was busy Wednesday taking drug dealers and users off the streets.
Escambia County Sheriff Grover Smith said it isn't uncommon for the Drug Task Force to be busy.
"We've been overwhelmed with calls," he said. "I think the departments and officers have done an excellent job. "
Agents with the Drug Task Force along with investigators from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, an investigator from the Escambia County District Attorney's Office and officers from the Flomaton Police Department executed a search warrant at 40774 Hwy. 31 north at M&M Trailer Park formerly known as Blueberry Hill Trailer Park. During the warrant search officials seized crack cocaine, prescription pills and marijuana from the residence.
Arrested during the raid was Michael Payne, 29, of 40774 Hwy. 31 north in Brewton and Sheila Anne Gibson Haveard, 38, of 3005 Old Castleberry Road in Brewton. Payne was charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled suspect and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Haveard was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Drug Task Force agents also nabbed Randy Spears, 37, of 11 Stallworth Memorial Drive in Brewton and charged him with first-degree unlawful possession of a controlled substance after agents stopped him following a pursuit, which lasted several blocks. After stopping his white Chevrolet Tahoe, agents discovered marijuana.
Spears was also wanted from Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department for unlawful distribution of marijuana. He was also wanted for two counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
The Drug Task Force is comprised of the Escambia County Sheriff's Department, Atmore Police Department, East Brewton Police Department, Brewton Police Department, Flomaton Police Department and the Escambia County District Attorney's Office and the Escambia County Commission.
