John Franklin "Johnny" Busbee
WAWBEEK – Mr. John Franklin "Johnny" Busbee, 33, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2005 in Wawbeek.
Mr. Busbee was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Wawbeek for most of his life. He was the Chief of the Wawbeek VFD, an employee for 10 years with the town of Flomaton; dedicated his life to his family and friends, loved to hunt and fish, and attended the Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Trisha Busbee of Wawbeek; his parent's Frank and Margie Busbee of Flomaton; two sons, Corey Busbee and John Skyler Busbee, both of Wawbeek; his daughter, Elizabeth Brynn Busbee of Wawbeek; his brother, Ean Busbee of Clarksville, Tenn.; an uncle, Tom Busbee of Wawbeek; his grandparents, Mary Gilmore of Flomaton, and Iona and P. L. Busbee of Jay, Fla.; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Coley officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the Alabama Firefighter's Association Honor Guard.
Tony Randell King
ATMORE – Mr. Tony Randell King, 42, of Atmore, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at his residence. He was an operator with Masland Carpets. Mr. King was born on Aug. 30, 1963 in Atmore to Earl D. and Almer Inez Conner King. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
His mother, Almer Inez King and a sister Judy Inez Hill precede him in death.
Survivors are: his wife, Lisa Moore King of Atmore; his father, Earl D. King of Atmore; two sons, Devin Lamar King, of Atmore, James Booker of Flomaton; a step-son, Blaine Alexander Gregg of Wedowee; two daughters, Virginia Ann King and Alisa Larne King, both of Atmore; two brothers, Don King and wife Jean of Uriah, Bro. Dannie King and wife Myra of Atmore; three sisters, Evelyn Davis of Mobile, Esther Price and husband Henry of Poarch, Janice Pugh of Flomaton; Brother-in-law, Bill Hill of Flomaton; Great nephew, Kaleb Sutton of Flomaton.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. George Nall officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends, Monday evening on Oct. 3, 2005 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Active Pallbearers were: Brandon Sutton, Alan Gunn, Derrick Price, Shane Lee, Bobby Wooten and Jimmy Carnegie. Honorary Pallbearers were Justin Bell, Clint King, Pete Miller and Fred Moore.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
Alayna Blaire Knowles
CANOE – Infant Alayna Blaire Knowles passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005 at a local hospital.
Survivors include: her parents, Steve and Ariel Knowles of Canoe; her brother, Caleb Isiah Fullerton of Poarch; her sister, Sara Miriah Skelton of Canoe; Grandparents, Ricky E. McGhee of Canoe and David and Dorothy Rolin of Robinsonville; great grandparents, Pearline McGhee of Atmore, Bob and Doris Patterson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Von and Sally Foster of Eugene, Ore.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at 11a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Verie Peters officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Edwin Mininger
WALNUT HILL – Mr. Edwin Mininger, 98, passed away on Sept. 30, 2005 at the Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kan.
Mr. Mininger grew to manhood in Gratiot County, Mich., where he was born to Hiram and Catherine Bechtel Mininger in 1907.
He worked at Redman Trailers in Alma and Commercial National in Ithaca for years. He later lived in Texas, Calif., and Ohio for short periods of time and finally settled in Walnut Hill, Fla. in the early 1970's. Mr. Mininger was married to Beulah Diller in 1943 and she preceded him in death in 1994.
Due to physical problems he went to live at the Manor in 1999. Mr. Mininger was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. Funeral services were held at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Ithaca, Mich. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation was held on Monday evening, Oct. 3, 2005 at Bardens Funeral Home in Ithaca, Mich.
