Josephine Jenkins
ATMORE – Mrs. Josephine Jenkins of Atmore passed away on Tuesday night, Jan. 24, 2006. She was born on Oct. 15, 1925 in Franklin, Ala. as the first child of the late Adam and Nancy Kyles. Mrs. Jenkins was a life long resident of Atmore. She was married to the late Richard Jenkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children, one son and two daughters, Curtis (Mary) Finklea of Atmore; Isiaphene (Leory) Magee of Moss Point, Miss., and Mary Brooks of Pascagoula, Miss.; five brothers, A.C. (Christine) Kyles, James (Ora) Kyles, both of Atmore, Peter (Annie) Kyles of Flomaton, Leonard Kyles, Leory ((Diane) Kyles both of Chicago, Ill., three sisters, Georgia Showers of Century, Fla., Mary A. Peavy, Jane (Charlie) Wilson, both of Atmore; special granddaughters, Brenda and Annette Finklea, fifteen grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 with Rev. Wayne Kyles officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews. Flower bearers were his granddaughters and nieces.
Sybil Nordstrom
FRISCO CITY – Mrs. Sybil Nordstrom, age 65 of Frisco City, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 in Fairhope, Ala. She was born in Mobile on July 7, 1940 to the late Dewey and Hattie Mae Lisenba Jones. She was a seamstress with Vanity Fair Mills.
A son, Gary Nordstrom and one brother, Harvy Jones, precede her in death.
Survivors are: her husband of 50 years, Donnie M. Nordstrom of Frisco City; two daughters, Donna Jordan and husband Ronnie and Amy Daniel, all of Excel; and five children.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cornelius Phillips officiating. Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
