Jimmy Taylor
RABUN – Mr. Jimmy Taylor, 56, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 in Rabun, Ala. Mr. Taylor was a native and lifelong resident of Rabun. He was an employee of Standard Furniture Company for 13 years and was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Taylor and a brother, John William Taylor.
Survivors include: his son, Michael Voiles of Jackson, Ala; his daughter, Ann McMillan of Little River; his mother, Lucy Taylor of Rabun; four grandchildren, Gregory Taylor, Trista Smith, Jack McMillan, Jr. and Megan McMillan; and four sisters, Jeanette Milstid, Sally Sprinkle, Marie Stacey and Shirley Hadley, all of Rabun.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at the New Providence Baptist Church with Sister Helen Stewart and Bro. Henry Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery with Petty Funeral Homes directing.
Isom "Boochie" Coley, Jr.
ATMORE – Mr. Isom "Boochie" Coley, Jr., age 49 of Atmore, died on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.
Mr. Coley was a graduate of Escambia County High School in 1975.
Survivors include: one daughter, Katrina Coley of Rockmart, Ga.; one son, Carl J. Martin of Atmore; his mother, Edna Mae Brazzell of Atmore; his father, Isom Coley, Sr of Atmore; two sisters, Marie Hartley and Jeanette Staples both of Atmore; ten brothers, Eddie Fore of Foley, Raymond Coley of Atlanta, Ricky Coley of Bay Minette, Ronald Coley of Huntsville, Michael Coley of Beaumont, Texas, Evander Holifield of Fairburn, Ga, Anthony Coley, Isom Coley, III, Anttwon Frye all of Atmore and Blake Powells of Mobile; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
William Thomas Boyette
EXCEL – Mr. William Thomas Boyette, age 48 of Excel died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006 in Monroeville, Ala. He was employed by Manor Slacks as a cutter. Mr. Boyette was born in Mississippi on Jan. 11, 1958 to Albert Sidney and Ellie Mae Toombs Boyette.
His father, Albert Sidney Boyette, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: his wife, Judy Delene Boyette, of Excel; his mother, Ellie Mae Toombs of Monroeville; one son, John Albert Boyette of Excel; two daughters, Julia Marie Boyette of Ingram, Texas and Felicia Tamaron Boyette of Excel; three brothers, Albert Sidney Boyette of Hot Springs, Ark., Charles Glenn Boyette of Monroeville, and Joseph Lee Boyette of Tenn.; one sister, Mary Jane Stenon of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at 2 p.m. from Dean Church with Rev. Billy Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Dean Cemetery in Rabun, Ala. Active pallbearers will be, Jay Boyette, Adam Boyette, Daniel Tuberville, Jerry Dison, Walter Joiner, Ricky Joiner, and Johnny Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Joe Gibson and Rayford Tuberville.
Family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006 at Dean Church at 3 p.m. until service time on Monday in Rabun. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of all arrangements.
Ethel Naomi Stewart Hall
CENTURY – Mrs. Ethel Naomi Stewart Hall, 71, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 in Century, Fla. Mrs. Hall was a native of Nokomis, Fla. and a resident of Davisville, Fla. and Nokomis, Fla. for most of her life. She was retired from Vanity Fair after 35 years and attended Ernest Ward High School and the Nokomis Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Hilton Hall of Davisville, Fla; her son, James and Alice Hall, Jr. of Canoe; her daughter, Gayle and Mike Hanks of Atmore; four grandchildren, Tabitha and Mason Frazier of Birmingham, Shannon Hall of Canoe, Cory Hanks of Tuscaloosa and Justin Hall of Canoe; three brothers, Lawrence Martin Stewart of Semmes, Jesse Winston Stewart of Spanish Fort and Dwight Durwood Stewart of Alexander City.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Caraway officiating. Burial will follow in Nokomis Cemetery. Visitation will be held today, Feb. 5, 2006 between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cory Hanks, Justin Hall, Mason Frazier, Nick Chisler, Ross Parham and Josh Long.
