Annie Elma Howie Hanks
WILMER – Mrs. Annie Elma Howie Hanks, age 94 of Wilmer, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 in Mobile. She was a homemaker, born in Goodway on Oct. 16, 1911 to the late Andrew and Nealy Arrington Quails.
Her husband, Gillum Hanks and a daughter, Elma Elizabeth Davis, precede her in death.
Survivors are three sons: Cleave Howie of Wilmer, Jack Howie of Mobile, and Barnie Howie of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Theodore Qualls of Frisco City; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie B. Byrd officiating. Interment followed in Godwin Cemetery. Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc was in charge of all arrangements.
Dolores Faye Morgan
MCDAVID – Mrs. Dolores Faye Morgan, 70, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 in McDavid, Fla.
Mrs. Morgan was a native of Arlington Heights, Ohio, a former resident of West Chester, Ohio, and a resident of McDavid, Fla., for the past 27 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, a member of the McDavid Homemaker's Club, and the American Legion. A retired employee of Escambia, Fla., as a school bus driver after 15 years, a Veteran of the U.S. Army, attended the Methodist Church, loved crafts and yard work.
Preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer M. Morgan.
Survivors include: her stepson, Leroy Morgan of Flemming, Ohio; three daughters, Charlene Smith of Chipley, Fla., Laura Todd of Morrow, Ohio, and Dawn Moore of McDavid, Fla; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Dallas Vance of McAuthor, Ohio; and a sister, Shirley Henry of West Chester, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. William Chancery officiating. Burial will follow at Ray's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight Feb. 19, 2006 between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Scott Morgan, Wayne Morgan, Wayne Moore, Kyle Todd, Michael Moore, Brian Moore, and Shawn Henry.
