The local physical education teacher who made national headlines for allegedly bribing students at Ernest Ward Middle School did not make his initial court appearance Thursday, but his attorney did according to reports.
Bond was set at $50,000 for Terrance Braxton, 28 of Atmore, but was dropped and he was released on his own recognizance.
Braxton faces six counts of bribery which is classified as a 3rd degree felony after being accused of taking money from students who didn't want to dress out for the physical education class he was teaching. Braxton will have a second court appearance on May 3 at the Escambia County Court House in Pensacola.
Investigators are still interviewing students in regards to allegations made against another Ernest Ward teacher for accepting money for grades.
