Spring is in the air and no one knows that better than area students who look forward to the annual Spring Break.
Escambia County Florida students were out of school last week for their break which in some cases was spoiled with cooler than normal temperatures at the beach.
Gulf Shores will be busting at the seams next week, as students from Atmore's Escambia County schools converge on the popular beach town.
Students of all ages anticipate the yearly break, but seniors are especially excited about the 'big week'.
Escambia County High School senior, Alvin Simmons was excited about his plans.
"I am going to Gulf Shores to spend the week with some friends," Simmons said. "But I can't go until Tuesday night because we have a baseball tournament Monday and Tuesday. I can't wait. This is a big week for us."
ECHS bookkeeper Lashonda Marshall said that the excitement level at school on Friday was extremely high.
"Most of the students were talking about going to the beach and shopping for prom dresses. I am excited about it myself. I need the break."
Skyler Lindsey a junior at ECHS has in priorities in order for his spring break.
"I plan on catching up on my sleep," Lindsey said. "Going to work and having fun at the beach."
No matter the age, from faculty and staff on down the line to the kindergarten class, the long awaited Spring Break is here!
