Flames stay hot with win

A four-run first inning and a three-hit night by Latesha Lee fueled the fire for the Atmore Utilities Flames 7-6 victory over the Pepsi Challengers May 22 in the Atmore Babe Ruth Fast Pitch Softball League's 13-16-year olds division.
Lee, Crystal Rolin, Brooke Bell and Lydia Rolin each scored one run in the first inning. Lee and Bell added another run for the game and Kaysie Malone ended the scoring for the Flames in the fourth inning as she crossed the plate.
Raven Culliver scored two runs for the Challengers and Shaquandia Gray, Jodeci Craft, Melissa Moore and Cierra Sanders each scored one run in the loss.
Rotary Club Mustangs 12 – Pepsi Challengers 8
Michaela Norman and Courtney English each crossed the plate three times for the Mustangs May 18. Cassie Forbes and Jasmine Tolbert each scored twice and Laquasha Pierce scored one run in the win.
Leandra Corey scored three runs and Melissa Moore, Canausha Crenshaw, Jodeci Craft, Tieka Norton and Miranda Comalander each scored one run for the Challengers.
Atmore Utility Flames 10 – Rotary Club Mustangs 4
Natasha Frye crossed the plate three times for the Flames as they torched the Mustangs for 10 runs in three innings May 16.
Crystal Rolin and Minika Smith each contributed two runs scored and Brooke Bell, Kaysie Malone and Tabitha Steege scored one run each in the victory.
Audra Forbes, Courtney English, Jasmine Tolbert and Kelli Boyington each scored one run for the Mustangs in the loss.
10 – 12 year olds division
Johnson Ford Rangers 14 – SAV Sluggers 0
The Rangers rode a 10-run first inning to victory over the Sluggers May 22.
Page Lancaster and Jasmine Ireland scored twice in the inning and Chelsey Ramer, Kendra Beachy, Breann Rolin, Courtney Weaver and Shelly Mothershed each scored one run in the first inning for the Rangers.
Lancaster, Ramer and Breann Rolin each scored again and Skyla Ryals added one run scored before the game was over.
Leslie Smith was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Sluggers.
Masland Carpet Rugrats 11 – United Bank Silver Eagles 10
The Rugrats squeezed out a close victory May 18 over the Silver Eagles. Niki Bryan, Amber Huskey, Makeria Williams and Niki Everette all scored two runs in the game and Courtney Cross, Brittly Powell and Alanna Johnson each added one run scored.
For the Silver Eagles, Ali Martin, Kristen Gehman and Taylor Byrd each scored two runs and Kelsy Plant, Taylor Helton, Caitlyn Bruley and Taylor Beahm scored one run apiece.
Johnson Ford Rangers 15 – SAV Sluggers 3
The Rangers seem to be able to score many runs whenever they need to, and May 16 against the Sluggers was one of those times.
Jasmine Ireland, Chelsey Ramer, Kendra Beachy and Shyla Godwin each crossed the plate three times for the Rangers. Allie Brooks, Page Lancaster and Breann Rolin each added one run scored.
Brianna Lane, Lacie Flowers and Brooke McGhee each scored one run for the Sluggers.
Masland Carpet Rugrats 19 – United Bank Silver Eagles 8
Page Allen and Niki Everette led the Rugrats over the Silver Eagles with four runs scored each. Amber Huskey scored three runs, Courtney Cross and Victoria Todd scored two and Makeria Williams, Niki Bryan, Ebony Bowman and Alanna Johnson scored one run in the victory.
For the Silver Eagles, Taylor Byrd and Alexandra Martin scored two runs each and Sydney McGhee, Caitlyen Bruley, Courtney Cook and Kelsey Plant scored one run each.
6 – 9 year olds division
First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 7 – David's Catfish Marlins 7
The Marlins struck early in the first and second innings May 22 and the Magnolias put together a seven-run fourth inning to tie the game before time ran out.
Brooke Presley, Darby Randolph, Dara McCullam and Yehelle Walker scored in the first inning, Presley and Olivia Tatum scored in the second inning and Taylor West scored in the third inning for the Marlins.
Y-Netta Craft, Jordan Nelson, Madison Matthews, Penny Banda, Marina Whatley, Kari Mason and Annah Nichols each scored one run in the fourth inning.
Anglea's &Company Nailers 8 – Hendrix's Tractor Company Balers 2
Allison Woods scored two runs and Aliaha Crenshaw, Carmesha Crenshaw, Peyton Snider, Taylor Hill, Adriann Lee and Anna Catherine Sasser each added one run scored for the Nailers on May 22.
MiKayla Spruill and Allyson Edwards each scored one run for the Balers.
Hendrix's Tractor Company Balers 11 – First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 1
The Balers were winning 4-1 until they exploded for seven runs in the top of the fifth inning May 18. Grayson Emmons, Allyson Edwards and Lauren Stacey each scored two runs and MiKayla Spruill, Cierra Caraway, Tabitha Bonds, Madyson McGlothren, and Amanda Donald each scored one run.
Y-Netta Craft scored the Magnolias lone run in the fourth inning.
David's Catfish Marlins 5 – Angela's &Company Nailers 2
Taylor West scored two runs and Brooke Presley, Hannah Boothe and Yehelle Walker each scored one run for the Marlins May 18.
Anna Marie Dobson and Anna Catherine Sasser each scored one run in the fifth inning for the Nailers, but it was too little, too late.
