Poarch decaffeinates Pepsi

The Poarch Creek Indians won in dramatic fashion June 1 as they defeated Pepsi 14-4 in Atmore Babe Ruth League action.
The game was a close contest as Poarch held a 6-3 lead. The fourth and fifth innings each saw four runs scored by Poarch and the game was called because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Stephen Yoder led the Poarch team, scoring three runs. Marshall Rolin, Jon Dean, Nico Johnson and Mitchell Rolin each scored two runs in the game and Jacob Rackard, Cameron McGhee and Devante Brown crossed the plate once.
Johnson and Dean saw time on the mound.
Kawetta Coon, Jordan Hasting, Brett Wilkins and Skylar Peacock each scored one run for Pepsi.
Hasting and Chris White threw on the mound.
Greenlawn Pharmacy 9 – Huddle House 5
The undefeated Greenlawn team fell behind 3-2 after a three-run inning by Huddle House in the fifth inning June 1. Greenlawn took the lead 4-3 in the sixth inning with a two-run inning of their own.
The game was decided in the seventh inning as Huddle House scored two runs in the inning and Greenlawn scored five runs to win the game.
For Greenlawn, Cody Vickrey scored two runs and pitched a complete game. Ben Hess and Haden McGill also scored two runs and Nicholas Flowers, Jamorris Curry and Christian Swartzendruber all crossed the plate once.
Eric Coley scored two runs for Huddle House and Tyler Brown, Blake Kirk and Mauria White each scored one run. Brown threw a complete game on the hill for Huddle House.
Huddle House 12 – Pepsi 1
Lawrence Thomas pitched a complete game and scored two runs for Huddle House May 30 in their rout of Pepsi.
Gavin Salter and Reginald Yelder each scored three runs for Huddle House, Kendrick Staples joined Thomas in scoring two runs and Tyler Brown and Eric Coley each scored once.
Nick Mills scored Pepsi's only run in the fifth inning and Mills and Skylar Peacock saw action on the mound.
Greenlawn Pharmacy 10 – Poarch Creek Indians 3
A five-run first inning and a complete game on the mound from Ben Hess fueled Greenlawn's victory May 30.
Nicholas Flowers, Cody Vickrey, Jamorris Curry, Hess and Haden McGill each scored in the first inning. Vickrey scored two more runs and Flowers, Curry and McGill each scored one more run for Greenlawn.
Poarch scored one run in the first inning and two runs in the fifth inning. Marshall Rolin crossed home plate in the first and Devante Brown and Wade Matthews came home in the fifth inning.
