'Stangs rev by Challengers

The Atmore Rotary Club Mustangs jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two innings June 5 in the Atmore Babe Ruth Fast Pitch Softball 13-16 year olds league, scoring three in the first and five in the second. The Pepsi Challengers bounced back with a two-run fourth inning to make the scored 8-2.
But the Challengers could not hold on and lost 11-5.
Audra Forbes scored three runs for the Mustangs, Cassie Forbes and Courtney English each scored two runs and Michaela Norman, Chelsey Hess, Kelli Boyington and Laquasha Pierce each crossed the plate once.
Canausha Crenshaw scored two runs for the Challengers and Jodeci Craft, Tieka North and Shaquadia Gray added one run scored.
City of Atmore Utilities Flames 5 – Pepsi Challengers 3
The Flames got hot in the fourth and fifth innings June 1, scoring all five of their runs in those two innings. Crystal Rolin scored two runs in the game for the Flames and Latesha Lee, Minika Smith and Lydia Rolin each contributed one run scored.
Miranda Comalander scored all three of the Challengers runs in the hard-fought loss.
Atmore Rotary Club Mustangs 11 – City of Atmore Utilities Flames 5
The Mustangs charged to a 6-0 lead on May 30 after a big first inning and did not let up on their way to the win. Audra Forbes scored three runs for the Mustangs, Courtney English scored two runs and Cassie Forbes, Michaela Norman, Chelsey Hess, Kelli Boyington and Dair'Reyel Brown each crossed the plate once.
For the Flames, Latesha Lee scored two runs and Crystal Rolin, Brooke Bell and Tabitha Steege each scored one run.
Atmore Rotary Club Mustangs 7 – Pepsi Challengers 3
Every run in the game between the Mustangs and the Challengers May 25 was scored in the first two innings. Michaela Norman and Courtney English each scored two runs for the Mustangs and Cassie Forbes, Jasmine Tolbert and Kelli Boyington each crossed the plate once.
Miranda Comalander, Andrea Jackson and Canausha Crenshaw scored one run apiece for the Challengers.
City of Atmore Utilities Flames 8 – Atmore Rotary Club Mustangs 1
The Flames and the Mustangs scored all nine runs in the first two innings and then the game was a pitcher's duel on May 23. The end result had Latesha Lee and Crystal Rolin scoring two runs apiece for the Flames and Brooke Bell, Natasha Frye, Anjaneice Martin and Kaysie Malone scoring one run each.
Jasmine Tolbert scored the only run for the Mustangs.
10-12 year olds
Johnson Ford Rangers 15 – SAV Sluggers 9
Breann Rolin and Page Lancaster each scored four runs for the Rangers June 5. Chelsey Ramer scored three runs, Kendra Beachy scored two runs and Courtney Weaver, Shelly Mothershed and Jy'Keria Shavers scored one run apiece.
The Sluggers got two runs scored by Nikki McGhee and Ysuna Staples. Lacie Flowers, Amy Morris, Brooke McGhee, Rachel Hudson and Kaitlin Rolin each crossed the plate once.
Masland Carpet Rugrats 17 – SAV Sluggers 6
Two huge innings in the first and third innings fueled the Rugrats victory June 1. The first inning saw seven runs cross the plate and eight crossed the plate in the third inning.
Paige Allen and Niki Bryan scored three runs for the Rugrats, Amber Huskey scored two runs and Makeria Williams, Niki Everette, Brittly Powell, Courtney Cross, Jasmin McGinnis, Ebony Bowman, Jordayn Rice, Victoria Todd and Alanna Johnson each contributed one run scored in the game.
Amy Morris scored two runs for the Sluggers and Leslie Smith, Lacie Flowers, Cha'Nae Lyles and Ysuna Staples each scored one run.
United Bank Silver Eagles 16 – Johnson Ford Rangers 7
A nine-run third inning led the Silver Eagles over the Rangers May 30. Brandalyn Homan and Chrissy Gohagen scored three runs, Alexandria Martin, Taylor Helton and Taylor Beahm each scored two runs, Sydney McGhee, Ashlynn Clemmons, Courtney Cook and Taylor Byrd each contributed one run scored.
United Bank Silver Eagles 11 – SAV Sluggers 7
Alexandria Martin, Taylor Helton and Sydney McGhee each scored two runs in the win for the Silver Eagles May 25. Brandalyn Homan, Chrissy Gohagen and Kristen Gehman each scored one run.
Nikki McGhee, Shykeitha Crenshaw, Brooke McGhee, Lacie Flowers, Brianna Lane, Cha'Nae Lyles and Rachel Hudson each scored one run for the Sluggers.
Masland Carpet Rugrats 16 – United Bank Silver Eagles 7
Niki Everette, Amber Huskey and Courtney Cross each scored three runs for the Rugrats May 23. Niki Bryan and Ebony Bowman scored two runs apiece and Makeria Williams and Alanna Johnson each added one run scored.
Taylor Helton scored two runs and Alexandria Martin, Sydney McGhee, Brandalyn Homan, Kelsey Plant and Caitlyn Bruley each scored one run.
6-9 year olds
Angela &Company Nailers 14 – Hendrix Tractor Balers 1
Aliaha Crenshaw, Stacie George and Peyton Snider each scored three runs in the Nailers victory June 5. Allison Woods and Anna Marie Dobson scored two runs and Anna Catherine Sasser crossed the plate once.
Grayson Emmons scored the only run for the Balers.
First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 6 – David's Catfish Marlins 3
The bottom of the order came up big for the Magnolias in the win June 5. Madison Matthews and Penny Banda each scored two runs in the victory and Kari Mason and Annah Nichols crossed the plate once apiece.
Hendrix Tractor Balers 14 – David's Catfish Marlins 13
The Balers won this three-inning slugfest June 1. Grayson Emmons and Madyson McGlothren each scored three runs for the Balers, Cierra Caraway and Rachel Beahm scored two runs and Hannah Chandler and Allyson Edwards crossed the plate once.
For the Marlins, Brooke Presley and Kaylee Cox scored three runs each, Dara McCullam, Cierra Stots and Ashleigh Simpkins scored two runs apiece and Darby Randolph contributed one run scored.
First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 10 – Angela's &Company Nailers 2
Claire Ahern, Y-Netta Craft and Annah Nichols each scored twice for the Magnolias June 1 and Justice Poole, Madison Matthews, Penny Banda and Kari Mason each scored one run.
Alexis Crenshaw and Peyton Snider each crossed the plate once for the Nailers.
Angela's &Company Nailers 12 – Hendrix Tractor Balers 5
Taylor Hill and Anna Marie Dobson crossed the plate three times for the Nailers May 30, JaQuanda Webster and Anna Catherine Sasser scored two runs and Peyton Snider crossed the plate once.
For the Balers, Mikayla Spruill scored twice and Grayson Emmons, Hannah Chandler and Tabitha Bonds scored one run each.
David's Catfish Marlins 11 – First National Bank &Trust Magnolias 1
Brooke Presley, Kaylee Cox, Olivia Tatum and Dara McCullam scored two runs apiece for the Marlins May 30 and Darby Randolph, Cierra Stots and Ashleigh Simpkins crossed the plate once.
Madison Matthews scored the only run for the Magnolias.
