Lt. Charles Ellaird
ATMORE – Lt. Charles Ellaird, 56, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at his residence. He was a native of Boykin and a resident of Atmore for many years.
He graduated from Southern Normal High School in Brewton and attended Faulkner State. He worked for the Atmore Police Department as a Lt. investigator for 22 years. He also served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his mother, Abbie Lee Elliot; four daughters, Ellisa A. Ellaird of Windsor, Conn., Shauna Ellaird of Auburn, Kendreah (Ron) Dickerson of Monroe, La., and Desiree Ellaird of Atmore; one son, Charles Jamison Ellaird of Atmore; five sisters, Seretha (Till) Spears McDowell of Flomaton, Levita Brundidge of Pensacola, Fla., Magnolia Dice of Andalusia, Patricia Gantt of Boykin and Bobbie Jean Elliot of Century, Fla.; two brothers, Eddie Lee Elliott of Boykin and Willie Earl Lewis of Bay Minette; grandfather Jim Elliot and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. from Deliverances Ministries of Jesus Christ in Atmore with Apostle Hattie Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore. Public viewing will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home Chapel. Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
Tanya Montrice Lambert
ATMORE – Tanya Montrice Lambert, 35 passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native of Mineola, N.Y. and a resident of Atmore for many years. She was a member of Second Mt. Triumph Baptist Church and attended school in Westbury, N. Y. She was employed with Masland Carpet.
She is survived by one son, Jordan Ranzel Lambert of Atmore; her mother, Eloise Lambert of Atmore, father, John Roosevelt Lambert of Atmore; three sisters, Cynthia Robinson of Dacula, Ga., Lisa Lambert Myers of Rio Rancho, N. M., and Stacy Lambert Myers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Ronald Lambert of Brooklyn, N. Y. and Donald Lambert of Atmore.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore with Rev. Joe Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore with Turner Funeral Home Chapel directing.
Public viewing will be held Friday, June 16, 2006 from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Carol Ruth Deer Turberville
MONROEVILLE – Carol Ruth Deer Turberville, 64 of Frisco City died June 12, 2006 in Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville.
She was a native of Monroe County and a former resident of Atmore. She moved back to Frisco City in 2002. Turberville was a member of Community Chapel Holiness Church and worked as a childcare giver for many years.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle Coleman and husband Grafton of Frisco City and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Monroe Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Monroe Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow with McConnico Cemetery in Perdue Hill with Rev. Dale Aplin officiating.
Grace Hanks
ATMORE – Grace Hanks passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Chapel. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until service time.
