Everette O'Farrell of Oak Grove, Fla., was left in shock Tuesday afternoon after his driver's side window shattered on him as he drove north on Main Street.
"I was just driving down Main headed downtown when I heard what sounded like a gunshot," O'Farrell said. "It was a blast and then all the glass from my window fell in on me."
O'Farrell was in the area of Horner Street when the incident occurred, just a couple of blocks from The Atmore Advance office where he stopped for assistance.
Officers with the Atmore Police Department responded to the call made from the Advance staff around 1:30 p.m.
The driver's side window was completely shattered upon the officer's arrival and they were unable to find anything such as a bullet or rock in the vehicle.
A search of the area where the incident occurred uncovered nothing except two men doing yard work, which involved one man edging the sidewalk.
O'Farrell was not injured in the accident.
