A cry out to Atmore, Canoe

As a concerned citizen of Atmore, I would like to bring to the attention of the City of Atmore and to Canoe the danger that exists between the communities of Atmore and Canoe.
Something needs to be brought to the attention of the County Commission and the state of Alabama – the deplorable condition of the barn and fences at the Atmore Saddle Club.
First of all, there is no security between Highway 31 east and the front gate of the tarnished barn. All that has to happen is to leave one gate open and the animals can enter the highway. Next, at night there is no lighting around the barn and road.
It is a eyesore to the community and a very dangerous situation for people who have to travel to the school in Canoe (Escambia Academy).
What will have to happen next? Some lady with a load of children to get involved in an accident.
I do not want to sound vindictive, but someone needs to address the problem. The state has no law to protect the person who hits these animals, the land owner or the members should be responsible for the animals.
Respectfully,
Ellie &Cecilia Bailey
