Genise Franklin
ATMORE – Mrs. Genise Franklin, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Franklin was a native of Uriah, and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She was a member of the OES of Florala, and attended the Brooks Memorial Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Recie Watford, a brother, Carl Watford and a sister, Elizabeth Mills.
Survivors include: her husband of 67 years, William Neal Franklin of Atmore; three sons, James W. and Cuba Franklin of Pensacola, Fla., Lyvonne Bonnie and Faye Franklin of Atmore, and Mike and Gloria Franklin of Monroeville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James and Sylvia Watford of Bay Minette; and two sisters, Louise and Joel Day of Atmore, and Kathryn and Leonard Stanley of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronald Franklin, Christopher Franklin, Jay Michael Franklin, Tom Jones, Billy Watford, and Rock Tolbert.
The family will accept flowers, or contributions can be made to your favorite charity, or the Brooks Memorial Building Fund, 904 E. McRae St.
Mary Lee Bryars Gilmore
BYRNEVILLE, FLA. – Mrs. Mary Lee Bryars Gilmore, 84, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at a Santa Rosa County hospital.
Mrs. Gilmore was a native of Bluff Springs, Fla., a resident of Byrneville, Fla. for the past 62 years, and attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Gilmore.
Survivors include: two daughters, Angie and Bill Weaver of Byrneville, Fla. and Trudie and J.B. Johnson, Jr. of Byrneville, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, John Bason Bryars of Enon, Fla.; and a sister, Gertrude Jones of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Dwenger officiating.
Burial followed at Crary Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Danny Dunsford, Steve Dunsford, Tommy Lee Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Desmond LeMesurier, and Jackie Brown.
Carl Thomas Tedder
CENTURY, FLA. – Mr. Carl Thomas Tedder, 88, of Century, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at Jay Hospital. Mr. Tedder was a native of Pensacola, Fla., but had been a resident of the Century community for his lifetime. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and he was of the Holiness faith and attended the Gospel Light Temple in Century.
He is survived by: two sons, Elery (Kathy) Tedder of Century, Fla. and Robert (Eva) Tedder of Atmore; one daughter, Elsie (Jay) Goshert of Century, Fla.; two brothers, O'Neil Tedder of Atmore and Mancel Tedder of Century, Fla.; one sister, Mandy Green of Macon, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Reid officiating.
Interment followed in Byrneville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Byrneville, Fla.
Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Chapel of the Flomaton Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joe Lowery, Norman Tedder, Chris Goshert, James Anderson, Ricky Tedder, and James Tedder. Honorary pallbearers were Johnathon Watson and Rick Tedder.
