Annie Louise Williams
MONROEVILLE – Mrs. Annie Louise Williams Johnson was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Monroeville. She was born into a loving union of the late Mr. Andrew and Alabama Williams.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Mrs. Annie Louise Williams Johnson united with A.O.H Church where she was a faithful member, also on the Mother Board; she served Christ until her passing.
The loveable, friendly life of Mrs. Annie Louise Johnson departed on Feb. 21, 2007. She leaves to cherish her memory; seven children, five sons, Charlie (Rose) Johnson of Atmore, R.V. (Delores) Johnson of Albion, Mich., Don (Marion) Johnson of Atmore, Johnny (Tamaria) Johnson of San Diego, Calif., James (Brenda) Johnson of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Dorothy Frye of Cantonment, Fla., and Melon (Mitchell) Ison of Atmore; two sisters, Susie Bell Tucker of Charleston, S.C., Gladys Williams of Atmore; special nephew, Johnnie Frank Tucker; two loyal friends, Ilenna Barnes and Orie Kyles; twenty-two grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted and loving friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at A.O.H. Holiness Church with Overseer Q. Mitchell officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, family and friends.
Floral attendants were friends of the family.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
Darwin Eugene Robinson
WALNUT HILL, FLA. – Mr. Darwin Eugene Robinson, 41, of Walnut Hill died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at USA Hospital in Mobile.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore. Public viewing will be Friday, March 2, 2007 from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the chapel.
Linda Faye Byrd
POLLARD – Mrs. Linda Faye Byrd, 48, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 in Pensacola, Fla.
Mrs. Byrd was a native of Century, Fla. and a resident of Pollard for the past 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and attended the Little Escambia Baptist Church. Preceded in death by a son, Matthew Byrd.
Survivors include: her husband of 29 years, James Lamar Byrd of Pollard; her son, Grant Byrd of Pollard; two daughters, Candy Fain of Brewton and Grace Byrd of Pollard; two grandchildren, Ariell Fain and Christian Fain; two brothers, Gene Lawson of Biloxi, Miss., and Ray Lawson of Century, Fla.; and two sisters, Marie Dunsford of Foley and Pat Cobb of Lafayette.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the Little Escambia Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Hogg and the Rev. Jeff Howard officiating.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Earlene Stewart Kelly
ATMORE – Mrs. Earlene Stewart Kelly, 81, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 in Century, Fla.
Mrs. Kelly was a native of Pineville, Fla., and a resident of Atmore for the past 59 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 90, an avid seamstress and quilt maker, and a lifelong member of the Bratt Assembly of God Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Willie Harrison Kelly, a son, James Matthew "JM" Kelly, three brothers, Robert L. "Jack" Stewart, and Joe Willard Stewart and a sisters, Gertherine Locke.
Survivors include: two sons, Curtis (Alene) Kelly of Atmore, and Hubert (Regina) Kelly of Columbus, Ga.; three daughters, Charlotte Godwin (Dudley) Coleman of Atmore, Glenie (Raymond) Peebles of Christian Home, Fla., and Martha (Terry) Miller of Gastonia, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Martin Stewart of Bay Minnette, Homer Stewart of Flomaton, Clinton Stewart of Pensacola, Fla., and Rabon Stewart of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a sister, Polly Collins of Winter Haven, Fla.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Stewart and the Rev. Rabon Stewart officiating.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Rusty Godwin, Shannon Peebles, Chris Kelly, Randal Hollingshead, Tommy Solomon, Jim Riggs and Alan Kelly.
Roosevelt Lawson Sr.
MONROEVILLE – Mr. Roosevelt Lawson Sr. was born to the union of the late Mr. Arthur and Fronnie Lawson. He was born December 16, 1940 in Monroeville.
He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Pinkie Albert on March 30, 1963 to this union, seven children were born.
Roosevelt's life on Earth is over, but the memories of him will be cherished by a devoted wife, Mrs. Pinkie A. Lawson; two daughters, Paula (Kevin) Williams of Fairhope and Shawnette (Raphael) Montgomery of Hartsville, Tenn.; five sons, Roosevelt (Dorene) Lawson, Jr. of Foley, Marvin (Rose) Lawson, Reginald (Kathy) Lawson of Atmore, Cardell (Bridgette) Lawson of East Brewton, Gerald (Lindsay) Lawson of Daphne; two sisters, Noble (Wumon) Davis of Atmore and Ruth (Floyd) Stevens of Stockton; 20 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a very devoted friend, Thomas McNeil and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Holy Community Center with Bishop Jimmy Wilson officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews and floral bearers were nieces.
Emma Jenkins Moore
ATMORE – Mrs. Emma Jenkins Moore, 53, of Atmore died Sunday Feb. 25, 2007 at her residence. Viewing will be Friday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Services will Saturday at 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel of God in Christ with the Rev. Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Christian Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lucille Johnson
ATMORE – Mrs. Lucille Johnson, 99, passed away Sunday Feb. 25, 2007 at Southern Oaks Nursing Home on Pensacola, Fla. She was a native of Burnt Corn and a resident of Atmore for many years. She was a member of Harris St. A.O.H. Church in Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ida Farish and her husband, Dallas Johnson.
Survivors include: four daughters, Jennie Russell, Geralfine Johnson, Bessie (Bobby) Henry and Dorothy (Odell) Roberson all of Atmore; one sister, Pearline Payne of Los Angeles, Calif.; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Harris St. A.O.H. Church with Overseer Q. Mitchell officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Atmore.
Public viewing will be Friday March 2, 2007 from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
Josephine Robinson
ATMORE – Mrs. Josephine Robinson, 87, of Atmore died Monday Feb. 26, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 3 at Mt. Gillard Baptist Church in Freemanville.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home in charge arrangements.
