Dear Editor,
During a recent visit to the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery to visit my brother's grave, my parents were greatly saddened to find out that a two foot concrete statue of a labrador retriever had been removed from beside his headstone.
After he passed, I had placed the statue beside his headstone to honor his memory. A friend of mine had given him a yellow lab before he passed away. From the first day, the dog (Roscoe) would lay beside my brother as he sat in his wheelchair.
My brother was a beautiful person that is missed everyday. We were blessed to have him in our lives. He was only 34 when he passed away in May of 2004.
The dog statue was a reminder of one of the many memories that we shared.
When you print this, I hope the thief that took the statue will find it in their heart to return it and not to be so selfish to ever steal from another grave.
