Atmore resident angered over destroyed trees
Last Week, a large advertising company, took the savage and unconscionable liberty to destroy two large oak trees that were hundreds of years old. This despicable act happened in Stapleton. They didn't even bother to get permission.
Their callous disregard for the ineffable process of nature is an example of the insensitivity of 'big business" (or small business for that matter).
Of course, this is a result of not having "real" tree ordinance. We see the same result in Atmore, with very few old-growth trees left. We have no streets like Government in Mobile or McMillan in Bay Minette with their lush tree canopies.
But we have some "life" left. Where there is life there is hope. Maybe the day will come, when we decide to conserve and protect the source of life.
