Jesse "Twit" Adams
McDAVID, Fla. – Mr. Jesse "Twit" Adams, 68, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at a Santa Rosa hospital.
Mr. Adams was a native of Byrneville, Fla. and a resident of McDavid, Fla. since 1972 and attended the Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife of 42 years, Doris Adams of McDavid, Fla.; two sons, Timothy Edward (Susan) Adams of Flomaton; and Thomas (Nancy) Adams of Century, Fla.; one daughter, Dianne (Phillip) Muse of East Brewton; two grandchildren, Austin Adams and Cody Adams; three step grandchildren, Jon Salyer, Michael Salyer and Jake Hadley; two step great grandchildren, Blaine and Tyler Hadley and three sisters, Willie Brothers of Christian Home, Fla., Vera Mae Rice of Flomaton and Juanita Mock of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Chancery and the Rev. Willie Oglesbee officiating.
Burial followed at Christian Home cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Charley McDonald
CENTURY, Fla. – Mr. Charley McDonald, 72, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at a Santa Rosa County Hospital.
Mr. McDonald was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and a resident of Century, Fla. for the past 27 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years, retired from the Escambia County Sheriff's Department and attended the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include, his wife Peggy Mathis McDonald of Century, Fla.; four sons, Michael McDonald of Century, Fla., Stephen Anthony McDonald of Landshut, Germany, Andre' McDonald of Karlsrhue, Germany and David Lee McDonald of Calif.; two daughters, Malinda Dee McDonald and Marion Anita Messing, both of Landshut, Germany; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, John McDonald, George McDonald and Sidney McDonald, all of Pace, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jeff Dwenger and Bro. Gilbert Cozart officiating.
Burial will follow at Flomaton cemetery with military honors.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Mamie Creamer Bryan
CENTURY, Fla. – Mrs. Mamie Creamer Bryan, 100, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 in Century, Fla.
Mrs. Bryan was a native and lifelong resident of Poplar Dell, Fla. and a faithful member and attendant of the Byrneville United Methodist Church. Her husband, Clarence O. Bryan; a son, Preston E. Bryan; a granddaughter, Lisa Lee and three sons-in-laws, Cordell Howell, A.J. Hurst and Fred Hubacker all preceded her in death.
Survivors include, two sons, W.A. and Margaret Bryan of Century, Fla. and Kenneth and Marie Bryan of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three daughters, Elousie Howell of Century, Fla., Jeanette Hurst of Pensacola, Fla. and Juantia Hubacker of Lillian; a daughter n law, Pansy Bryan of Century, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 19 great – great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Pugh and the Rev. Lou Cabella officiating.
Burial followed at Byrneville cemetery.
Visitation was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 until funeral time at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, William P. Bryan, James Howell, Edward Howell, Robert Howell, Preston Bryan Jr., John Kenneth Bryan, Terry Bryan, Kenneth Bryan Jr. and Ricky Bryan.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Killam, Theodore Creamer, Rabon Knowles and George T. Langford.
Audrey Eunice Vines
WHITE HOUSE FORK – Mrs. Audrey Eunice Vines, 75, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at a Baldwin County Hospital. Mrs. Vines was a native and lifelong resident of White House Fork and attended the White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her son John Andrew Vines preceded her in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Ben Vines of White House Fork; three sons, Barry and Pamela Vines of White House Fork, Dwight and Vicky Vines of Folkstown, Ga. and Steven Vines of Bay Minette; former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Sandra Vines of White House Fork; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Danny Durant of White House Fork and two sisters, Oleta Langham of White House Fork and Mildred Andersen of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at the White House Fork Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Michael McRae officiating.
Burial followed at White House Fork Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at the White House Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Pallbearers were Caleb Vines, Ben Vines, Will Cloudas, Ralph Walker, David Langham and Mike Langham.
Honorary pallbearer was Eric Vine.
Nelma Seller Powers
ATMORE – Mrs. Nelma Sellers Powers, 91, of Atmore died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 in Atmore. She was a homemaker, born in Coffeeville on Aug. 12, 1916 to the late Jesse S. and Nonie Hamilton Sellers. Mrs. Powers was a member of Brooks Memorial Church.
Her husband Raymond Powers preceded her in death.
Survivors include, a daughter, Jean Powers (Rick) Volkwein of Harrison, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kelly Ladd and Katharina Ronk; three great grandchildren, Jennifer and Nicholas Ladd and Katelyn Ronk.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at Johnson – Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery.
Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Johnson – Quimby Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Covenant Hospice.
Johnson – Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Clark Singleton
ATMORE – Mr. Clark Singleton, 81, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 in Atmore.
Mr. Singleton was a native of Bratt, Fla. and a resident of Atmore since 1969, retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years, retired from the Atmore Police Department after 17 years and attended the Atmore Baptist Temple.
His wife, Myrtle Conway Singleton; a daughter, Margaret McCullough Lee; a sister, Inolia Avery and two brothers, Perry Singleton and Curtis Singleton all preceded him in death.
Survivors include, two sons, Frank Lane Singleton and Nicholas Mills, both of Atmore; five daughters, Johnice Danner of Montgomery, Cathy Singleton of Ohio, Ann Singleton of Thomasville and Faye Singleton of Warm Springs, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and three sisters, Lillian James of Montrose, Miss.; Beatrice Singleton and Louise Singleton, both of Bratt, Fla.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at the Atmore Baptist Temple with the Rev. Doug Odom officiating.
Burial followed at McCullough cemetery with military honors.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Petty – Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Betty Jean Williamson
ATMORE – Betty Jean Williamson,77, formerly of Mobile died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 in Atmore. Miss. Williamson retired from Brookley Field and Keesler Air Force Base receiving highest honors from the civil service. She was born in Monroe County in 1930. Miss. Williamson was the daughter of Marvin and Laura Williamson. She is survived by nieces Vikki Day Faessel of Atmore, Donna Williamson-Terranova of Houston, Texas, Janice Dyal of Robertsdale, Bonnie Singleton of Goodway, Gloria Bowen of Atmore and Sid Lamb of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews Mike Williamson of Mobile, Gordon Coley of Robertsdale, Rodney Cruitt of Monroeville and Grady Byrd of Goodway and dear friends Betty Jordan of Mobile and Jean Gilroy. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Marvin and Laura Williamson; brothers, Marvin Williamson and Edward Coley and sisters, Luverne Day, Freda Cruitt McNorton and Aurelia Byrd and stepsisters. A special thanks to Teressa Scott, a dear friend, for all the loving care she gave in the last year. She leaves her devoted cats Houston and Miss Kitty. Miss Williamson will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her pets. A graveside service was held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 in Pine Crest Cemetery.
