Marion Aubrey Etheridge
ATMORE – Marion Aubrey Etheridge, 85, of Pensacola, Fla. passed away on Sept. 20, 2007 at a local hospital.
He was native of Atmore and the son of the late M.F. and Nancy Etheridge. A veteran of WWII, he retired from the U.S. Army and later the U.S. Postal System.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ernestine Beasley, formerly of Atmore. He leaves behind six children, Ann Crisp of Pensacola, Aubrey Jr. (Bo) of St. Louis, Mo., Michael of Charlotte, N.C., Keith of Milton, Fla., Gary of Milton, Fla. and Juliet Tamaro of Ashburn, Va.; six granddaughters; one great grandchild; four siblings, Marshall, Eubie, Orville and Dimple and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral and burial took place on Sept. 22, 2007 at Bayview Cemetery in Pensacola.
Evelyn Worrells Roberts
BREWTON – Mrs. Evelyn Worrells Roberts, 84, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Roberts was a native of Castleberry and a resident of Brewton since 1953, retired from Judy Bond and attended the Brewton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include, her son Freddie G. Roberts of Brewton; her daughter Shirley Adams of Brewton; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at the Brewton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
John D. Huber
LANCASTER – John D. Huber, 69, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, Oct. 8, 2007 at LGH after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Betty L. (Kilheffer) Huber with whom he was married 49 years last June 21.
John worked in maintenance as a carpenter at the Mennonite Home.
Born on April 23, 1938 in Manor Twp., he was the son of the late Clarence J. and Ruth (Hess) Huber and was the step-son of the late Elizabeth (Martin) Huber. He was an active member of the Millersville Mennonite Church and its Sunday School. He was a former church trustee and assisted with the last renovation of the church. John was a volunteer at the Columbia Re-U-Zit Shop, where he also was a board member. Throughout the years he was a volunteer with MDS. Earlier in his life, he and his family were church planters in Georgia and Alabama. In Atmore he was a lay minister and member of the Oak Drive Mennonite Church.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife and three children, Nancy J. married to Bryon S. Miller, of Charleston, S.C., Doris A. married to J. Harold Leaman, of Lancaster and Dale L. Huber married to Judith L., of Atmore; 10 grandchildren; 4 siblings, J. Cleon Huber married to Grace, of Lancaster, Ruth Anna married to Robert H. Miller, of Mount Joy, Lois Jean married to Donald E. Breneman, of Millersville and Miriam L. married to Wallace B. Cornish, of Coudersport. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith E. Shertzer.
Funeral Services were held at the Millersville Mennonite Church, 437 Manor Avenue, Millersville, Pa. on Oct. 11, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends viewed at the Millersville Mennonite Church on Wednesday evening between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and also on Thursday between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Memorial remembrances can be made in Memory of John D.
