The Leadership Atmore Class of 2007 is bringing Christmas spirit to the Strand Theatre.
Five Christmas classics will be shown at the Strand during a two-weekend span.
First on the docket is "Miracle on 34th Street" Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. The movie will be flowing from the projector onto the screen in the Strand. "Miracle" won three Oscars for best actor in a supporting role, best original story and best screenplay. It was nominated for best picture and was put on the National Film Registry in 2005.
The Leadership class will also show four classic children's Christmas movies Dec. 15 beginning at 1 p.m. Movies shown will include, "A Charlie Brown Christmas," "Frosty the Snowman," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer."
The Christmas classics shown have survived the tests of time, as they were all made between the years of 1964-69. "Rudolph" is the oldest movie and was first shown on TV in 1964. "Frosty" is the youngest of the movies, debuting in 1969.

The Leadership class project is the installation and beautification of new Welcome to Atmore signs. The class received a donation to help fund the signs and the funds from the movie days will help with the beautification process once the signs are in place.
