Lady Chiefs halt streak in Jay

Junior Gabe Wesley carried the Northview Lady Chiefs to a 64-40 victory over the Jay Lady Royals Monday night in Jay.
The win was the Lady Chiefs' first in four games after they opened the season on a six-game win streak.
Wesley had 20 points, six rebounds and eight steals as the Lady Chiefs (7-3) rolled easily over Jay, gaining a 40-22 halftime lead and never relinquishing the lead. NHS won the second half 24-18 en route to the victory.
Junior Brittney Thompson added 14 points, eight rebounds and seven steals for the Lady Chiefs. Junior Timeka Marshall contributed 12 points, three rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Angela Rodriguez had 11 points, four rebounds and four steals.
Junior Melissa Garrett added 5 points, nine rebounds and four steals and senior Karissa Lee had 2 points and two rebounds.
South Walton 62

The Lady Chiefs suffered their worst defeat of the season in a 62-31 loss on the road against district foe South Walton Dec. 7.
NHS trailed 28-15 at halftime and could never recover. South Walton outscored NHS 25-5 in the third quarter, but the Lady Chiefs took the fourth quarter 11-8. It was too little, too late.
Garrett turned in a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She added one steal. Junior Yasmine Odom had 7 points and four rebounds. Wesley and Thompson each added 3 points. Wesley added three rebounds and two steals and Thompson had four rebounds.
Junior Shelbi Wiggins had 2 points and four rebounds and Rodriguez added 1 point and two rebounds.
T.R. Miller 63

The Lady Chiefs lost their second straight game Nov. 30 at the hands of the Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller, 63-39.
Wesley led the way for the Lady Chiefs with 14 points, three rebounds and three steals. Thompson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Marshall had 8 points, two rebounds and four steals. Odom contributed 4 points and three rebounds. Rodriguez had 3 points, two rebounds and one steal. Wiggins added three rebounds and Garrett had four rebounds.
The Lady Chiefs trailed 28-17 at halftime and were outscored 35-22 in the second half.
Walton 52

Northview suffered its first defeat of the season at the hands of Walton Nov, 29 in Bratt, 52-29.
The first quarter was the closest the Lady Chiefs got to Walton, trailing 8-6 at the end of the quarter. The score was 22-12 at halftime, but Walton outscored NHS 30-17 in the second half for the win.
Marshall led the Lady Chiefs with 9 points, one rebound and one steal. Wesley added 8 points, four rebounds and three steals. Garrett and Odom each had 4 points. Garrett added five rebounds.
Thompson and Rodriguez each hit one jump shot for 2 points and Thompson added two rebounds and two steals, while Rodriguez had three rebounds and one steal. Wiggins contributed five rebounds.
The Lady Chiefs next game is a district battle with Catholic in Bratt. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. tip off.
