Atmore native Jim Corman will be seeking election as a delegate for presidential candidate Mike Huckabee at the Republican National Committee during the Presidential Preference Primaries.
Corman has chosen to support Huckabee because of the candidate's morals.
"I think he's somebody I can trust, somebody that I like and somebody who has a position on the issues that I am very comfortable with," Corman said.
Corman said he thinks Huckabee has a great shot at becoming President of the United States, especially after he pulled the majority of Republican votes during the Iowa Caucus held Thursday.
"For someone who had only about 3 percent of the votes in the summer, Huckabee has all the momentum at this point," Corman said. "I am excited about that. I think he will also carry Alabama by a large margin. I am very pleased, very excited that he won and I think that Gov. Huckabee has the momentum right now."
The presidential primaries for the state of Alabama will be held on Feb. 5.
